I have a 1990 600C and live on Padre Island in south Texas- 20-50 is perfect if you live in a southern climate. If you live up north, you should use 10-40---- if you live way up north like NY or Minn, you need 10-30

Aight yall, I am having a problem, I have a buddy who owns a 2005 R6 and I smoke him in the quarter, but he can pop his up to a wheelie in 3rd, I can barely do on in 2nd. What can I do to get a little bit more pep in my step. I have the Muzzy pipe, PC3, K&N filter, royal purple oil, dropped 1" in the front and 2" in the rear. Still can't get that thing up. Help me out peeps.........

well if your really want to get it up easier i'd suggest some sprocket changes. The R6 is a wheelie beast cause of where its powerband is from what i've been told anyway. What speeds are you trying to pop your front end up in 2nd? My bike does it just fine in 2nd if i run her up to 9/10k then feather the throttle actually scared me the other day thought i was going to loop it. lol
*this was at about 40 mph no mods done to bike except exhaust.*

its around 35-45 mph but I still can't do it, maybe if i bring it up to like 13 or 14, but I don't wanna crap me **** out already. I am fixin to go 1 down front, and 3 up rear, so that will make a hell of a difference, I can pop it up in first and ride it to third but It is hard to get it up in second. I dunno, maybe the sprocket change will be my solution, but still it is the fact of the matter. Thanks Ninja

Hi guy's
Just wanted to know if anyone out there has a repair manual for the above model bike. Specifically looking for info (diagram) on the radiator and thermostat, as my bikes running hot and I may need to change the thermostat. I just don't want to get half way through this job to find out it's bigger than I thought. |

Drag racing is fun! 13.2@104.7. (I ran out of testicular fortitude at the big end of the track. Helluva crosswind.) ![]() ![]()

ZZR600 is the older model ZX-6R prior to 2003. It is a good bike and fast...If you have a good head on your shoulder you will be fine. If you are young and have any stupid tendencies you may get bit by its power. I would suggest even older 600s like Honda F2/ F3 or older ZXs...As far as all the speeds and feeds you want...It is not the fastest 600 and if that is what you think makes the bike then the ZZR is not the bike for you. Almost every bike is faster than almost most cars that is all you need to know. Not once did I ever care to know how fast my bike is...All I know is I could take every car from the start and take off pretty fast when I was with my friends. One thing that bike has is definitely good gas mileage. I do not know how old you are, how tall, or how heavy you are but believe me that bike is more than you will need for quite a while. If you are looking for faster I warn you to be very careful as speed kill and hurts. I know because I have currently experienced it. Welcome to the forum and good luck...Thmaster! He owns a ZZR600 and will now school you on it's pros and cons. There are a bunch of other ZZR riders who will chime in.

ok well my real question about the carbs. is how doe sit compare. like when i think of a bike being carbed. it seems like it would sound like a 4-wheeler, and i want that real loud high pitched zoom zoom sound of a street bike. so i guess im asking if it sounds or drives any different because its carburated??

I am very new at riding, as well to the forums. I just bought a ZZR600 and it is really nice, fun too.
I did do a bit of reading before hand, from what I read the carbs have a bit harder start, but once warmed up it performs just like it was fuel injected.
