ok not sure if this the right spot for this.
I want to drop a tooth in the front and gain some acceleration down low. I know this will affect my top end. Do I need a different sprocket on the back if I want to keep the stock 525 chain? |

Hi folks, My bike starts up, but seems to idle slightly "wet", or rich. When I give it throttle, it goes up to about 3000rpm, gets "throaty", and will die if I don't let off the throttle.
It had sat for about 5-7 days, and has run beautifully before that. Any ideas? TIA...

2 questions: I have a '06 Ninja 650R. I'm looking for frame sliders that don't require cutting into the fairings. Any suggestions of a good brand and a store that sells them? Also, the weather in FL has been cool; however not that cold and I noticed my radiator fan never turns on. Does anyone know how to manually check the fan to test it? Thanks.

Im just curious could a zzr-600 or a zx-6r be a first bike or does it require more attention and riding skills?

my first bike was a 600 fzr yamaha 96 model. I was used to riding dirt bikes so i felt a little comfortable. If you have any experience you will get used to it just dont try to learn to quick . also most states offer a motorcycle training course. it might be a good idea to take one.I also ride with gear helmet full leather gloves and pant with kevlar. be safe ride hard .

so, let my reply your post...zx-6r absolutely requires at least basic riding skills, but more than that, requires a cool head, because the acceleration and top speed of this bike are really high, and at high speed, there is no place to doing mistakes...but after all, is very nice bike to ride, handling is really amazing, and also position of the biker is good, and not exhausting, for long distance rides even for little bit taller riders, btw i am 188 cm (i think this is 6ft 2 in your units), and i don't have any problems with position on bike... so, i would say, if you want to buy a zx-6r, and if it is your first bike, don't risk, and ride at high speed, but just get used to it mile per mile, but slowly, and only then when you're skills will be a bit better, you will see and get to know what the ninja zx-6r is capable, and make best of it's power and other riding capabilities. |

Hey guys
Green rider here, started riding last August of 2007. My first and only bike/pleasure to this date is my Dark Green zx-6e. Beautiful bike, glad to be part of the family. In regards to BradleyD1146's question: Just like Nejkossi said, its a great bike, but be smart about it. You have to arrive @ your bike/the road with the same level of maturity that a Professional Pilot would with his plane/runway. And just like a Pilot, you learn small before going big. The best way to know yourself as a rider, before you ride, is to take a course. I did, and I know it has saved me at least once on the road. My questions for you guys are as follows. I have spent a good few weeks trying to find both a Nice Aftermarket seat for my '97 zx-6e (Not much luck.) I was also interested in Frame Sliders for my '97, pref. No Cuts. It's an older bike so I can understand if the market is now dry of the goodies I desire. Is there some kind of magical store or website that would carry these but somehow I missed it? Cheers, a merry and safe riding season to all. |
