manual says to prop it up on center stand, wait five minutes and take a look. should be in the middle of the window. 10w40 or 20w50 is good.

Unless the compression ratio on your motor requires the use of said fuel it ussually isn't going to help much. You may gain 2 or 3 HP out of the deal but its not going to help much. Its also not cheap. Are you racing or is it for street aplications? Anything over 100 octane is illeagle on the street because of emissions.

Actually, not far from my town there is a gas station that has a cam2 pump. I see tons of bikes there all the time. Still not worth paying $6.00+ per gallon IMO.

guess this is the right place to put this question. I wanna upgrade from my 600r to a zx9r preferably a early 2000s (2000-2002) and just wanna know if this is too much power wise for me. Ive basically outgrown the power on this 600r, dont get me wrong its no slouch but to me I think I could step it up now to zx9r and just start out on it like I did my 600r, respecting it till I learned to tame the beast. Just need some feedback from anyone that has a zx9r and whats the weight difference and handling compaired to a 400lb 600cc bike.

It actually is lighter than my '93 ZX-7. Handles way better. They put out a lot of power. With the stock sprockets you have to work pretty hard to get the wheel off the ground (without using the clutch) because of the wheel base and the weight. I'm thinking about dropping 1 or 2 teeth off my front sprocket but I haven't decided yet. Might do it anyway cause sprockets really dont' cost that much anyway. Myabe drop 1 off the front and add 2 in the back.

My 2002 ZX-9R is very comfy for long trips and I like it for scootin around town too. I'll be selling it next spring, cause I want a smaller profile bike, if you're interested .

lol i'll be interested in it. As of right now not sure where I wanna store a new bike at. My gf house here has a shed but I dont like the idea of people around it and whatnot. The 600r is old so I dont really care about that much cosmetic wise but with a newer bike I wouldnt want anyone near it. I guess I'll have to build a shed for the bike.

I believe if look in the window you will see high & low marks close to the high mark with out going over. I ran 20w50 when i was living in Cali, 10w40 in Idaho and back to 20w50 here in the valley of the sun

Do we have anyone here with a Z750? I think I narrowed choices for my replacement bike to that or a ZZR-600... still not sure which yet...

Default 04 zx6r

alright at the end of the year im either buying an 04 or a 05 ninja 636. ive riddin a stock 04 that my friend had and the suspension is really stiff. the rear tire likes to find every bump and dip in the road. is there any way to get that stock suspension soft enough for pure street riding cause im probably not gonna take it to the track a whole lot and these california roads are just too bumpy. i was thinkin about getting an 05 cause they changed the suspension units to softer ones not the over dampened 04 ones. so the 05 is more what im leaning towards unless the 04 can be softened up a bunch. i just dont feel like buying it then spendin money on new suspension parts just for street riding. and franky the 04 is cheaper and in my opinion looks better. i dont like the fat tail and underseat exhaust on the 05 but its front fairing is a lil better. thanks if any of you can help me, im a lil in the dark when it comes to bikes but give me a car and i can tear it up and put it back together like that

Can't find a Hp rating on the 2005 ZX6R. Can find one for the ZX10 no problem but the 6R seems to be a mystery. I'm comparing this bike to an R6 and an CBR 600 and a Gixxer 600 for possible future purchase.

There's a "dyno chart" link on this page from Two Brothers comparing HP with their exhaust vs. stock - indicates it's 113.5hp stock.

And a 600RR was about 106 and an R6 was about 104 (granted, the 2004 model). SO the ZX6R is the best bang for the buck. I'll take it.

Does the slip on part of the exhaust for a 98-02 zx6r fit on a 96 zx6r? If no one knows, could a 98-02 owner get me a measurement of the bolt holes? All the ones for sale on ebay are for 98-02 and I've been pondering about getting another one.

the 04 does have one stiff as suspension. Thats one thing I dont like about mine, I have to lift off the seat all the time because of it or risk running my balls into the tank. The steering on the 636 is known to be sensitive also so between the suspension and steering hitting bumps is bad especially at high speeds. Im investing in a steering damper soon or later.
