I have a 1997 ZX6E, been sitting about 7 months while on deployment, replaced the battery, starts, but she cuts out as soon as I add throttle. If I lean the bike in either direction while sitting on it, she cuts out. Drop it in first, she cuts out. Only starts at full choke, and idles at 2000 rpms. I turned the idle screw a little, she has good gas. Only 8,000 miles on her, if anyone can help me get my bike running again, I'd be most appreciative.

you can't go wrong with the 10w-40. that's unless you live in the northeast where a thicker oil might suit your needs. maybe a straight 20 weight. |

Hey all!
So to my disappointment I took the bike out of storage for the winter. It's a '00 600CC ZX-6R. I went to start uit up put my battery and everything in and I hit the ignition when all of a sudden all the bbike did would crank and drain the battery. So I thought it was my battery I gave it to my buddy to test and he said it was fine. so that leaves me without a clue for what's wrong with it. there's gas in it tho I don't think that has anything to do with it. It seems if I hit the ignition more then 10 seconds it seems to drain the battery.. so any ideas or tips? I would very much appreciate it hoping to get back on the road soon.. thanks! |

Hi guys, I'm looking at buying a '92 ZX6D. Going to see it tomorrow. Is there anything in particular I should be checking into with this model?
Ad says it has a new chain, brakes, tires, & cooling Fan. Single owner, he's put about 52,000 kilometers (32,300 miles) on it. Off the top of my head, I plan on checking out: No hydraulic leakage on the forks Tire wear Scrapes/physical damage Oil Check chain for rust Wiring/make sure everything lights up like it's supposed to Listen to how the engine revs Steering radius Any advice for a prospective first time Ninja owner? |

I have a 96' ninja zx6 it has about 10,000 miles on it and has sat in a shed for the last 6 years. I had the carbs rebuilt and sync'd... after about 5 miles down the road the motor just stoped... i checked the fuse and the ignition fuse was popped. I replaced it and it popped again, i then took the junction box off to notice that the circuit board inside is burn't... i was told that it could be my ignition switch... is this possible and are they common to burn out?

Just bought a zzr600 (used) 1200 miles on it about a week ago. The bike ran great for that week, no problems. Last night I ran out of gas (had to put it on reserve) and stalled out. Once I put it on reserve it took a second to suck more gas in but it started fine. I filled it up with "premium" gas from AM/PM (I think that was a mistake to use their gas) and fired it up, it ran fine, I drove it home. This morning I started up the bike, it ran great. I drove it quickly to work (fast) and I didnt notice anything wrong. So then about mid-day I heard gas venting from the gas tank. Its about 95F today so its rather warm. I opened the gas cap and the venting noise stopped. I went to start it up and it acted like it was cold and took a few seconds to start. I was not able to use the choke (even when the bike was warm) because it would stall out. The bike runs fine without the choke so no biggie I guess.
My question is, is it normal for the bike to stall if it is too warm outside and the choke is on? Do any other ZZR600 owners notice the gas venting like that? Did I get crappy gas? |

bikes need 3 things to function right? fuel, compression, and ignition. get a multimeter, compression tester w/correct adapter, and carb sync (if more than one carb) FI on the other hand, is all sensors so you just need the codes.

Im wondering if anyone here knows where to get cheaper cowling that are the same as oem for my bike. Also if anyone knows what other cowlings fit on my bike? |
