4th gear likes to not engage everynow and then, I would like to lower the gear shifter some. What's yours doing?
check your oil levels and your clutch lever play.

if your level is low it will make for hard shifts. if you have too much lever play, you may not b pulling the clutch in enough and doing damage to your gearbox. you should have about 1.5" of play in the lever. if your bike jumps when u hit first gear from a stop, you have this problem.

keep in mind that kaw's have a heavy shift traditionally.

if its the holes im thinking of, then it is for a steering dampener. almost all bikes come with the mounting points predrilled in the frame now.

No sorry Pistobah. There's some debate about drilling the frame to accept like the Scott's or Ohlins dampener or just mounting a unit like a GPR that doesn't require drilling.

Thanks! Any idea how tough the GPR is to install? As long as there is no drilling in the frame I think I could handle it.

gpr isn't difficult to do on your own, but if you aren't confident with the wrench, bring it to someone who is. instructions are included with the pkg and are pretty simple.

the zx6rr takes and ohlins, but the 6r has a different setup

I had 983 miles and finally took it to 10k on the revs today in 2,3,4 and 5th. Very exciting, sure am glad I bought this bike over the 500. Will climb higher on the tach when its at least in the 40's.

On my zz600 in warm conditions here in SOuth Africa i'm running 20w50 Oil according to the Heynes Manual. For colder conditions you will need to run 10w50.

Do I need to replace the oil/water pump assembly? Anyone else run across this?

Im also experiencing this problem on my 1992 ZZR600 but haven't found the problem yet. Anyone out there have an idea?

Im also experiencing this problem on my ZZR600 and it's got 38000 km on it. Gear shift is tough and makes a clunk noise when I shift. Also, when im standing still and put it into first the bike jumps forward. Is this a clutch or gearbox problem?

Kawasakis are famous for this. I have owned 4 different Kawi's and they all did this. I wouldnt worry to much about it unless you just cannot get it to go into gear(s).

yhoshimura is a good exaust, i just put one on my 05 today, and it sounds awsome, i have a buddy of mine who also has the same yoshimura rs-5 exaust and he loves it, its a very loud, throught exaust which makes the bike sound like a more agressive and ****ed off opponent.

Was this the slip on exhaust or the full exhaust system with headers...I'm looking at getting a new exhaust system for my 05 636 and I'm seeing that 58cycle.com has the full yoshimura rs-5 exhaust system for $670, which sounds a little strange let me know if anyone knows anything about it...thanks.
