Default 2008 250r Home Made Upgrades for cheap!

    Hello All,

Well, I have spent the last 5 months slowly chopping my bike up and doing mods by myself because I am broke. I cut the long part of the rear fender off right away because it is god aweful ugly I thought. That just wasn't good enough so I finally Chopped the rest of the fender off and remounted my turn signals. It is actually very handy to do, and easy.

The turn signals will actually fight right into the slots of the bungee hooks, so it is important to keep those. It is pretty snug, and I almost think that Kawasaki had to have purposely made them that way because it is too perfect.

Then that just was not good enough. So today I replaced my front turn signals with ones that are much smaller, so the bulbs just barely sick out of the fairing. Next I took off my rear turn signals all together, and removed the bungee hooks. I mounted some smaller LED turn signals, upside down under the brake light. All of this has been using existing holes and such so there has been no drilling or anything. I did have to shave down the existing plastic quite a bit in order to make it look better, and I need to shave some more even.

Over all this has greatly improved the look of the bike in my opinion, and I did it all myself for less then $40. I am interested in your opinions of the mounting of the turn signals. It is certainly not usual, but I kind of like it. It actually looks a lot cleaner then it appears in the pictures, they kind of make it look pretty junky, but it actually looks pretty good from any angle you would normally see it.

Eventually I will actually buy a kit to replace the whole fender and integrate everything, but like I said I am broke Let me know what you all think! And please forgive the dirt, it has been raining the last couple days. I am not that irresponsible I promise! There are a couple more photos in the slide show then whats posted.

Dang Y'all does it really look that bad?

I know the night pics are horrible, I was busy all day, but I will throw up some new ones tomorrow. I am really interested in what you all think though. My biggest concern is visibility, I don't want someone to be confused as to if/which direction I am turning. I had a buddy follow me in his car after wards to make sure there were no visibility problems though. I really want bikers opinions though, as you all have more experience then I do.

Thanks A2rider! I will put up some better pictures tomorrow, hopefully I get a couple more opinions. I don't want to be the guy everyone is laughing at behind me. At least not any more then they already do!

Who's laughing? You're invisible to everyone in a car, and no one else matters.

Looks nice; I'd own a 250r, but it wouldn't move with me on it. Lol

at least no one is bashing you.

doing your own mods are great, doesn't matter what other people think.

I don't think it looks bad at all, I've shot many attempts at home-made mods.
