Missing Bolt in engine cover, leaking oil.

I was riding over the weekend and apperently a bolt right in the center of the crank case cover walked itself out. It's and 86 600r and I'm not even sure what the bolt would be there for. It's really tiny and luckily I must have lost it at the end of my ride. When I pulled into the driveway my entire right leg was covered in oil along with the pipe and some of the motor and it was starting to smoke off.
Anyone know what purpose it serves, it's kind of tough to explain so I hope someone knows it. I was thinking of just blocking it off if there is no reason for it.

I'll take, "To hold the oil in" for $900 Alex.

It's right through the face of the engine cover, I would assume it has some purpose. And it isn't a drain plug.
Also, that wasn't in the form of a question.

Here's a link to the 86 600r engine cover schematics, I don't think i see the bolt you're referring to.

Thanks, but I found that layout and unfortunately it only shows from the back of the engine cover. The bolt that I am speaking of is on the front. It is right in the center of the engine cover but you cant see it in the pic. I'll see if I can take a picture an post it myself.

It is actually right where the circular line comes down the engine cover. It almost goes in at an angle right about dead center
