Default spring/sprung exhaust questions

I built myself a exhaust system which uses a collector made for springs to hold the pipes to the collector... I can't seem to find any info sources on this type of system... I would like to know as much as posible about this type of system. should I use high-temp silicone where the pipes slip on to the collector? is it possible make it so they wount slip? I know thats what the spring system is made for but it's just a question. Thank you.

that type of system isnt the most common type. my buds gsxr has that system and i think my zrx does also.
you wouldnt use any sealant, they will seal perfectly fine since they heat up and swell to seal.

I haven't examined the header to collector connection really, but it looks like the collector to tailpipe connection is where it allows gasses to excape... at idle there is alot of gas out of the tip, when I rev it very little gas comes out... and how the tailpipe slips over the collector would indicate to me that the gasses would be directed to my stator... I still need to make a heat shield to protect it... don't know how much temperature the stator can handle...
