Anybody know what the usual temperature should be when idling after riding for about an hour? Mine went up to 208 degrees. What's the max temp I should worry about?

my 04 will range around there when it has sat at idle for a bit,but IMO it is normal.
the problem will arise when you don't hear the fan kick on somewhere near that temp. NO WORRIES. |

I've had mine go up as high as 220*F at idle when the ambient temps were close to or above 100*F. My bike hovers between 190* to 210*F most of the time when the ambient temps are between 70* to 90*F.
Taken from my '07 Owner's Manual: *If the coolant temperature rises to 115*C (239*F) and below 120*C (248*F), the numerical value of the current coolant temperature starts flashing. This warns the operator the collant temperature is high *If the coolant temperature rises to above 120*C (248*F), "HI" is displayed and starts flashing. This warns the operator tht the coolant temperature is too high; stop the engine and check the coolant level in the reserve tank after the engine cools down. You're not even close to having to worry.
