Default Make my pipes on my 2006 Vulcan Nomad louder

This is my current setup. I have a 2006 Vulcan Nomad 1600 with V&H True Dual Baggers. I wanted to make my pipes a little louder so I removed the baffles and then the pipes were way to load with a bad echo sounds. Also sounded horrible on deceleration. SOO, I ordered a pair of Thunder Monster QQ Baffles to put into the head pipes that is supposed to quite and lower the sound of the pipes without baffles. Well it was slightly better sound but still has that echo sound. The Thunder Monstar Baffle salesman told me if I put their baffles in and are too loud, put the V&H baffles back in. Then, if their to quite, he told me to cut my V&H baffles in half. I did and now their very quite. My question is, when I cut the baffles, do I need to re-weld the other end of the cut V&H baffle to the cut end to basicly make them shorter? Or if you have any suggestions, let me know.

OK , I found a post that said that they cut the middle 6" of the baffle out and welded the other two ends together. Is that the way to go?

I tried searching for both KawaNOW and Ultimate baffle to see something new and came up with mostly sushi and textiles. Got a direct link for this?
