Hi,
I have an 06 Nomad. I'm 6-1 with long arms, but find the riding position uncomfortable after 50-60 miles, as I feel my arms are "stretched out", not locked, but close. The bike has Aeromach risers, which put the bars an inch and a half closer, and I have a back rest, but I keep finding my hands out at the end of the grips, and wishing there was even more... Phatt 2 risers have a 4" pullback (if I read the ad correctly) but that would only get the bars back another 2.5" from their current position. Has anyone found a different set of bars to solve this problem? If the bars were 4-6" longer, and perhaps swept in a little at the ends, along with the current risers, the position would be most comfortable... If there are no bar options, is it practical to consider reshaping the current bars, along with the 4" pullback risers? Thanks! Rob |

That 2.5 in. pullback will make a huge difference. Try just that before you modify the bars or replace them.
I put a set of risers on my Connie, up 1.5 back.75 and made enough difference to ride an Iron Butt in comfort. Hawk |

With my Phatts II risers I went ahead and rerouted the brake line so I could then rotate the bars up high, as seen in the pic below. It made a world of difference. You might just try rotating the bars up to see if the height of the grips makes a difference in the feel. But I'm only 5' 8" so something like the Phatts II pulback along with setting the grips high should work easily for someone of your stature
![]() One other thought, some folks put Apes on their Vulcans (use search feature), and I'm sure that would get you leaning back comfortably into the backrest more for sure.

There are tons of metric bars out there. Here are just a few options:
STARBAR HANDLEBAR by Baron Custom Accessories - Baron Custom Accessories (I think I'm going with the starbars on my 01) Flanders Handlebars for Metric Bikes Phat Performance Parts - Great Parts, Great Prices, Great Service, Great Website

48Rob, I have a set of Bugsplat risers-polished round stock, essentially-that are two inch long and go under the stock risers. On my 05 Nad they worked with stock setup. They go on quick and easy. I put on a set of Flanders bars last yr that were the same as the stock but the ends of the grips were 1-2 inch closer and only need stock risers which I prefer, now, so they're laying around. I'll send them to you for 15 bucks which probably will cover the S&H and little else. An inexpensive way see what you think of the up and back thing with different risers and no cable changeout. PM me if interested.
