Default 09 Heat issue

Can anyone tell me if the 09's have the same heat issue as the 08's?

Did Kawi make any changes from the 08's to the 09's?

I have a ST-1050 Sprint and a Falco (SL), but looking at adding a C-14 to the stable.

thanks

Funny you should mention this topic. I just reponded it here:
Concours Owners Group - - Membership Web Site by Memberize.com

Here's my opinion:
I've bought an '09 Connie, and YES, there's a lot of heat. I was hoping someone on the site had a solution. I've tried inserting more insulation, but with limited success. I'll try adding even more. I also hear the fuel release valve squealing whenever I stop the bike. I wonder what temp the fuel is reaching? I plan to buy a manual; I suspect some heat insulation between the tank and the head may not be such a bad idea. I read someone say that Kawi oughta' fix this problem, which a problem it certainly is, especially in hot weather. You dang betcha' they oughta' do something. Too late for me, however. I'll have to figure it out on my own, unless someone has found a solution???

Aside from heat, handling, remarkably easy. 1st ride out, definitely NOT trying, came within 1cm of edge of tread! Power- smooth, easy delivery without any shaft weirdness. A pleasure to ride, minus the heat issue, which I will continue to work on.

Presently the only heat issue I have is at my right foot and its from the exhaust pipe, I have no other problems with it. but I only have 700 miles on mine.
