Default First ride to work!

I did it!! My first "official" ride to work! (Official because my sweetie and I took a ride there yesterday so I would be familiar with the route ;P ) I had a rather chilly ride up PA 106 to US 11 up into New York. PA 106 winds through some small towns, passes under I81, and eventually ends on US 11. US 11 does some more winding northwards (just at 55mph) and eventually passes the towns of New Milford and Great Bend, PA before heading across into NY. I got off US 11 in Binghamton, NY to continue my trek to work on NY 7 and NY 434. It was a good run. Not too much traffic, except for the idiot in Great Bend who couldn't do the speed limit. From Great Bend, PA to somewhere around Kirkwood, NY it's a 55mph zone. This idiot didn't get above 40 and most of the time we were doing around 30-35. So I ended up being about 15 min late for work when I should have been on time. *sigh*

I did a lot of new things on this route. I went over my first major bridge (went over the Susquehanna river), crossed into another state, dealt with interstate-type interchanges (US 11 does some wierd stuff just before Binghamton) and did my longest solo ride. All before 10 am today

Home is just a reversal of the way in, except I need to watch out for some *nasty* bumps on US 11 on the way home. Thankfully you can see them ahead of time so you can prep to hit them (no way to avoid them sadly). I'm looking forward to quitting time now more than ever

Congrats!! That's an awesome milestone!!! I know it'll be a while before I can make the same claim - there's a veerrrrryyyy steep 2.5 mile long suspension bridge on my (ONLY) route to work... it's super windy up there (it's high enough that a cruise ship can pass under it), and can be scary enough in a CAR, let alone on a bike...

WOOOO HOOOO!
You go girl! Proud of your accomplishments! Have fun on the way home! Hopefully you won't get stuck behind the same 40mph'er.

Thank you! I'm so excited!

The bridge I went over wasn't nearly that high I do hate wind though, I get blown around a lot since the 250 is so light. Ah, well. I'll be good at dealing with it later, I guess

Thank you!! I had a lot of fun riding this morning, even if I was chilly I certainly hope that the slow-poke doesn't make that their "normal" morning run, or I may have to scream. *sigh* Can't wait to go home
