Unhappy Handling long hair??

Okay, I've got waist-long hair and it's so annoying while riding! There's no way I'm cutting it, so since I've been riding, I've been putting my hair in my jacket. However, sometimes it feels itchy with all the hair poking through my shirt sometimes. Do you gals have any solutions to this besides the ol' putting you hair in your jacket trick?

Thanks! My friend was talking about one of these, they just didn't know the name. I'll look into getting one of these.

If there's anymore suggestions, tell me!!!

I wear those leather things around my hair. They make a huge difference. If I just put my hair in a pony tail, it's so matted when I get home I can't comb it out. I also braid my hair sometimes, but I really prefer the leather "gloves" (or whatever you call them).

My husband and I both use Hair Gloves (www.hairglovecycle.com). My husband has the 12" one and I have an 8" (yes, my husband has longer hair than I do. It's nicer too.) They work great. Now for waist length, Hair Glove does make a 20" version. You pull your hair into a low ponytail (at the base of your neck) and attach the hair glove. We found using a second hair band about 1/8"-1/2" below that one to attach the hair glove worked better than using the one at the base of your head. We both wear full face helmets and have no problems.

You may also want to check out Jammin' Leather (www.jamminleather.com) for their hair stuff (I sooo want some of the feather barrettes!)

Another alternative is I know someone who bought a pack of standard hair elastic in different colors and just put a whole bunch in her hair. *shrug* Seemed kinda time consuming to me, but she liked it

I've found that the Harley dealers tend to carry a lot of the hair gloves, whereas the metric dealers don't. I'm not sure why that is, but I've found Harley dealers to be a great place to shop for stuff like this if you don't want to order something online.

One thing to watch for is how wide the glove is. I have thick hair, and I couldn't get one of the gloves I bought around my ponytail. Some of them are quite a bit narrower than others.

Oh, poo. My hair is thick too... Does anyone know how wide the 20" one is? It's probably the only one that'll cover the most of my hair...

Hair Glove does sell an 'extra wide' version, but it's only 8". I'm not sure how wide ours are at the moment since I'm at work. However, a (very) rough estimate is about 1-1.25" in diameter when snapped closed.

This thread makes me smile cuz my long hair drives me crazy too! It's layered so little wisps escape elastics and end up blowing around inside my helmet.

The best method I've found so far is to run some leave in conditioner through my hair then divide it into several section each of which I twist into one bun at the nape of my neck below the helmet. Not only does it keep everything in place but when I take my helmet off and undo the bun my hair actually has some body instead of the usual flat helmet-head look.

I don't have long hair so don't get excited when I ask: Can you wear some kind of a hair net to keep the shorter hair in place and out of your face?

I would like to try one of those hair gloves but for now I just use ties about every 3" down my pony tail. It's works well for me.
