oh yea for sure taking the classes but will have to wait for next year since they are all booked up for now. I think I will take the written test this week however.....just got a 05 ZZR 600 this weekend. Did a bit of learning with my BF in the parking lot of a nearby school......no buyers remorse here .....totally awesome.

Hey everyone, Im new to the board. My name is Jeanette, Im from San Marcos (CA) part of San Diego County. My boyfriend has an R6 and I love it so I decided to go after a motorcycle myself. It may be a little while because gear is pretty pricey and I have to sign up for health insurance and take the safety class before I do anything. By then my bank account shouldnt be doing so hot so I'll have to save a little more and then get in on a bike. I've been researching about bikes for months now and I narrowed it down to a Ninja. I still have some time until I have to make a decision so I get to ask around more until then and really narrow down my choice(s) Either an older 500 or a 250. I am leaning towards the 250. Someone said it was great to gain experience so I may do that and then upgrage once I feel comfortable.
I love going to the desert with my guy to offroad, we go to SCORE and MDR races, bbq, work on our trucks and hang out. Everyone on here seems super nice so I am glad I signed up Are there any people in the San Diego by any chance? |

Hey all,
I FINALLY got my bike. I've only been riding for a week.....I passed the MSF course with flying colors. Any other girls have this bike and if so did you have problems riding it? It is a heavy bike! 2006 KAWASAKI ZZR600 ![]() |

Hi all~
I kind of told my story in this thread (see post #15). But thought I should do the proper thing and say hi. "Hi!" About me? Well, I'm a DV/SA Advocate and I also do the "supervision" for court-ordered supervised visits. My job had been very challenging lately and I'm very glad to have the bike as a distraction. I'm also excited to see so many other women into riding and both men and women on this board so generous with their help and encouragement.

I would have had to heavily modify the ZZR-600 before riding it. The bike was a little too tall for me and needed a few other mods before I would have been comfortable riding it. I would have had to lower it 1", change the seat (man that was uncomfortable), and get risers for it to make the seating more upright. I also was a little leary about the power of the bike. Moving from a Ninja 250R with 38hp to a ZZR with 95hp was a bit much for me I thought. But then I am well known to be conservative. If I hadn't found the ZR-7S, I probably would have bought the Katana. The Katana wouldn't have required the mods the ZZR would have just to ride. The ZR-7S doesn't. Overall it came down to the best fit for me. I'll argue about the ZZR being heavy though Congrats again on the new bike and congrats on passing your MSF, too! Have fun riding!

It is basically the same bike. It is heavier than its racing replica brethern. As far as motorcycles are concerned, it is still a light weight. My stats are 5'-7", 120 lbs. I can straddle the seat without touching it, so the weight doesnt really bother me. I do work out a little and that helps with moving the bike around and flicking it about in the twisties. I find the seat to be very comfortable. I ride an hour one way to work, so I spend a lot of time in the saddle. But, with the newer models, they did change the seat...so..I dont know if that makes a difference or not. I love this bike and would not trade it for anything else...maybe for a newer model!! |

Hola Muchachas I'm new to this Forum... Started riding bikes over in Mexico when I was around 5 years old...My dad used to let me drive his "Safe Bike" (as he liked to call it...LOL...He had 2 other bikes that were as he warned "Off Limit") 1969' Yamaha (100cc) and after a few falls and scrapes (LOL) I got the hang of it pretty good... Once I turned 6, my bro and I used take our bikes over to our ranch and jumped them and stuff...Then we finally moved back to good old Cali... After moving back to Cali, I only get to ride motorcycles whenever we go on vacation to Mexico...Which isn't nearly enough practice...LOL...Everytime we go back to Mexico I feel like an amateur But now that I finally turned 18 (a few months ago), I drove myself to the DMV, signed myself up for the MSF class(I think that's what its called...LOL) ...Passed it...I did a lil smart shopping and as of last Saturday, I bought myself a 2005 Kawasaki ZZR600... The ZZR600 is not neccessarily the bike I wanted to buy, for the simple fact that I'm pretty short (5'2") and it looks like a lot of machine for me since I haven't been riding bikes very much...but I got a REALLY good deal on the bike so I couldn't turn it down...Although according to my mom it doesn't matter how good of a deal I got, because all she sees is my death bed...LOL...I'm sure I'll be able to ease her into getting used to the bike...My dad on the other hands seems really happy I bought the bike, not because he wants me to ride it, but because he knows I'm going to let him borrow it...LOL... Anywho, my ZZR600 has a lil body damage and the front brakes don't work, but I'm working on getting that stuff fixed...So yea, that's a lil about me LOL, hope I didn't bored you guys too much PS. I'm thinking of painting her a different color...Any suggestions??? PPS. Do you ladies know of any good place in Southern Cali where I can buy cheap helmets and stuff??? Thanks *MUAH* |
