Yeah, I'm kinda new to riding also. I am trying to get used to the highways so I can ride to work down earhart. Hopefully I get my bike Friday from the shop and it's not to much $. I just found out today that one of my customers rides and she knows a lot of places that are real nice to ride but on north shore or out of Lafayette. 3 hr. drive to Lafayette...that would have to be a weekend trip but Northshore could take one nice, long day

Da Honest...no body you know with a truck who can give you a hand if you asked? Offer to pay them or something if you find one. That has to suck to find one and can't get because of no truck to get it home.

DHT- How about renting a U Haul or something similar in your area?? They have trucks with ramps and all you need are tie downs and you are all set.

DHT Is there a different bike that you would consider getting? Virago and Rebel are 250 and very nice and around the same price range. I hope you find something.

Hey all... I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!

just picked me up an 04 Ninja 250. guy has been trying to sell it for a month, guess his first ad wasn't too exciting, then he went through and found everyone that was asking to buy one, sent e-mails and viola!! I talked him down from 1500 to a 1000, bike was laid down once, but he bought new stuff for it. i rode it home... GAWD it felt good to be on a bike again. Now i just gotta find a few parts (gotta replace the windshield its gotta crack in it), and replace the mirrors and she will be street ready again. (his wife not paying attention hit the mirror in the garage when doing something crazy). otherwise i'm happy. bike was only 20 miles away, so a 20 minute ride tonight, can't wait til i get the insurance and everything tomorrow, then i can go get what i need and fix it up, and be riding around on monday. I swear, won't be in my car unless i have to be.

here are a couple of dark pics.. it was night time when i got her home

Good job on finding yourself a bike, DHT!!! (I couldn't imagine you really waiting until next summer—that's a whole summer of missed riding!). Ride safe!!!

thanks liz, i plan to get out tomorrow and ride all over town, i'll be riding in a slight bit of pain, however i think my doctor may put an end to it. seems my pull groin ligament now has my thigh swollen. its like dang can i catch a break.

i'mma still try my darnest to ride if i'm not at the doctor's all day.

I'd recommend getting some good but gentle stretches to do from your doctor, and then making sure you stretch every single day, not just when you are riding. You have got to treat that groin injury with respect, or it will stay inflamed and not heal quickly.

Do what she says. You just got your bike and you've got to get well so you can ride it now

yeah i went to see my doctor today, seems like the groin pull isn't the only thing wrong with me. i think the other doc i saw on sat mis-aligned my knee, but the groin pull is starting to feel better (or maybe its just the drugs). gotta get an mri in the next two weeks to figure out why my knee is swollen. *sigh* sucks too i just picked up my bar end mirrors to put on the bike, and went to put them on and stripped one end of the handlebars. now i gotta take the bike to the shop to get that screw out and have them take out the other side so i can have mirrors to see.

gonna take some pics of the bike tomorrow with the mirrors installed... today was a long day, but here is one of me in my new cortech jacket. by winter time i'll have to buy a liner to put in it, but damn if it don't feel great with the wind blowing me. I can't wait to get home tomorrow and ride with nothing on my back but my jacket. gotta look for me some chaps now, and i'll be geared up. oh yeah my boots too.

welcome 07ninjamom, wow 12 years later you decided to take up riding again, I am curious to know what made you quit after only a year in '96 and what gave you the desire to take it back up again?
I, myself, never even thought about riding a motorcycle until 3 years ago and I just did it. And whenever I am or whatever I am doing, if I hear another motorcycle, my head turns. And when it's a girl on a bike, it's even more exciting. I have no idea where this passion came from - there are just some things in life you just gotta go with!!
