I have seen this done on other forums and I thought it was pretty cool, plus we get to get out and meet some new people and show off our motorcycles with the thing we seem to like the most...pictures.

If you are playing you must be the first to take a picture of your motorcycle with the target and post it to win. No old photos allowed, the pics must be current! We will go on the honor system.

The winner will then post a new hunt, and it's Game On again!

The targets must involve the motorcycle in the photo in some way.
Please keep the targets legal, rated G or PG-13 and something all riders everywhere can do. The idea is to have fun and be creative.

Rules:

1- No photoshopping allowed.
2- Pictures can only be used once. Each target requires a new picture.
3- No old pictures (past ralleys, vacations, etc).
4- All targets must be in the same picture.
5- The first correct picture posted after the target is posted is the winner.
6- If you win, you get to pick the next target/hunt (use your imagination).

Sooooo....with that in mind, here is the first target/hunt:

Target #1:

Take a picture of yourself, your bike, and a fully uniformed Military member, all together. If you are in the military, you have to get a buddy with you in the pic. Any military service (Army, Navy, Coastie, etc), and any country is okay as long as they are in uniform!

Now lets get out and have some fun and go get your pic.

Ed
I like this idea

Ok, with idea help from CTRider,a picture of you and/or your bike infront of the oldest place, structure, or location you can find (ex. historic building with date plaque, or town sign with date established). I realize this favors members on the east coast and Europe, but we'll see what gets posted.

edit: I feel I should clarify that the winner will be who find the oldest date out of all the entries.

The older the better.
The date of the building, structure, or location MUST be in the picture!!

Would a link to a website about the building do for those that can't get the date of the building in the shot? For example, we have old buildings here where the cornerstone has long since been covered or replaced or the date is along the roof line of a tall building. However, some of those buildings are famous enough to have a historical page about them.

I just thought I'd throw that option out there if that's an acceptable compromise. Obviously, of course, getting the date in the shot would be preferred, but we are in the digital age where almost anything can be found online. Of course, I think with any of these hunts, providing a link to an "about" page should be done, anyway by the poster (if it's available) just so people can read up on these places and things.

yeah, alot of the old buildings here don't have a date on them... but i could find info about the building somewhere.

or is part of the difficulty actually finding a building where the date is visible in the pic ?

No, but it turns out that if you peek underneath them, they're stamped "Made in China"...

Originally I was going to go with Steve's opinion as I replied to this question. But this challenge has gone on long enough unanswered so I'll relent. Information about the subject of the picture may be documented online.

FYI, Even I could win this one if I wanted. This place is about 5 minutes away from me.

Technically it's a series of several walls that never really connected together, so it's not all that effective at even being a wall - much less a defensive structure. Plus, the only section that is really complete and in good shape is the part you always see in the post cards and on TV. A lot of the rest is ruins - or simply never completed. It's the Chinese version of Route 66. They pretty much gave up on it when enemies came up with that most devious of weapons know as: the ladder. Gun powder pretty much made it a no-brainer that it wouldn't work.

David Copperfield didn't really even need to go through it. He could have just walked around it.

I guess we can be glad the Huns didn't have airplanes, though, or they never would have built the parts of the wall that they did. Then there would be no reason to go visit except to buy bootleg movies.

Don't forget that before Toyota really stepped up quality and reliability in the late 70s, "Made in Japan" was viewed as a sign of a cheap POS, much as "Made in China" is today.
One thing to watch for... and I don't know if this is true or urban legend... but if something is tagged "Made in USA" vs "Made in U.S.A.", it was made in the Korean city of "Usa".
I haven't been able to find that city on any maps, and the only thing that Snopes lists is an identical story about "USA, Japan" (which they indicate is false).
Likely the original legend about Japan was updated in 80s when anti-Japanese sentiment had dwindled and Korea began to threaten Detroit with the Hyundai.

There was a scene in "Gremlins" that referred to the Japanese quality at the time when the guy with the tractor talks about "Gremlins" in the Hondas and other Japanese products.

A year later, though, another Spielberg production (aka: Back to the Future) reported that "All the best stuff comes from Japan".

Back on topic. Tomorrow, I'm going to photograph my bike in front of my local pub - a former coaching inn, which has a date on the front of it. Unless some of you slow coaches get a move on and beat me to it.

True, the Wall couldn’t keep anybody out of China, most places the Wall wasn’t even monitored but the main purpose was to stop marauders. the Wall couldn’t stop people from coming in—all they had to do was scale it or invent a ladder and they could also leave, but they couldn’t carry anything back with them. if a burglar knows he can get into your house, but that he can’t get anything out, then he won’t be too likely to rob you. It did slow invaders. The Chinese used signal fires along top of the wall. One column of black smoke = small raiding party, while four columns = up to 10,000.

the Wall was expanded through the Gobi desert around north corner of China, thousands of miles through a huge, desert. due to decay and no maintenance (no 5000 mile service plan?) in the 1400’s The Ming dynasty built the sturdiest additions, an incredible feat of engineering, it can be seen by radar images from space.
The 10,000 mile long wall would go from Miami, Florida to the North Pole. Such a project cost a modern-day equivalent of $360 billion—about the same as our nation’s highway system $$$$ in the last 40 years.

Think of the track we could build for that.
