Default HID lights and reserve lighting device

Searching the forums I see some of you are running HID lights . I installed one last week and it works great, huge improvement over stock lighting! Not wanting to break the bank, I tested the waters with a cheap ($66 delivered) kit from Alpha-Bid on Ebay.

Installation on my 85 GPZ900 was straightforward and worked immediately. Only issue is now my reserve lighting device is activated due to the HID pulling less power. The kit came with a "warning canceler" built in to the harness but obviously isn't working on mine. Has anyone else had this problem?

I'm looking at the wiring diagram for the reserve lighting device but can't figure out how to bypass the part where it sees a low power draw. It can be bypassed completely but then the headlight would come on when the key is turned on instead of the headlight coming on after the bike is started. Could also wire in a manual switch to turn off and on or just spend more money for a better HID kit.

Anyone have any other thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!
