i purchased a 4 into 1 header from a friend of mine that owns a 1988 750 ninja. I was told it is a race exhaust. it took me aand a close friend of mine about 4 hour to grind off part of the flanges, disassemble the old exhaust (left muffler was falling off anyway), test fit the new exhaust, remove, fit again, remove, make paper gaskets, install exhaust, blow them out in 1 second, remove exhaust, make aluminum gaskets, install, tighten, figure out mount for muffler, decide R1 muffler was too big, put on ninja muffler, fit again, tighten up, and test fire. when we finally got everything taken care of it sounded like music, loud music, but music none the less.
it was alot of fun assembling it, and we scratched the hell out of my frame (getting painted this winter anyway), and annoyed the hell out of his wife, and all of the neighbors when we fired the thing at 3 am. the pics are here ----> http://community.webshots.com/album/359667254CTomAL please tell me what you guys think of the new look. Thanks for reading Dan. |
