SWEET!!!! Can't wait to see it in the dealerships. I've always been a fan of their V-4 since owning an 82 VF750S back in the early 90s.

The front end is ugly though...rather have a ZX10R next to my 14 for the more aggressive riding days

well, if you already have a 14, there's no reason to go to this. You need a bike for variation, like my TT600.
My only problem with the VFR line has been that it's too much sport to be a 2-up touring bike, and too much tour to be a sporty bike. I'll still always have a passion for them though. ![]()

My wife will want one of these, if this is going to be an actual production bike. She loves her VFR800, and has said that she would only ever replace it with another.

by the way...what did Spencer ride? I wasn't aware that any of the VFR line was used for racing. With the configuration of the bars and such, it's always been kind of a sport-standard seating position.

Isn't it a little heavy for the track? I sat on the GSXR line with the idea of moving up from my TT600. The 750 was lighter than the 1000, close in feel to the 600, and of course, plenty of power. I think it will be my next one in order to stay more aggressive in the corners.

I really liked the 600rr for handling, but it was just too small for me, i like the feel of a liter bike....just me, plus the new zx10R is like a 600 chassis with a 1000cc motor

Haven't set on one. I kinda dismissed the liter bikes due to weight. I know sitting on the GSXR1000 it just felt heavy. I "assumed" that all the other brands were pretty much similar. I shouldn't do that, huh.

I have to say...I really like the way it looks. The front end is different to say the least...but I think it's a good direction. Kind of like if you were to take a Vision, make it a sport bike and make it less polarizing.

...and just think...with the turn signals integrated into the mirrors, when you go to the track, you only have the mirrors to remove. no taping over the turn signals.

Here are some recent spy pix of the VFR in the Alps for a press shoot. The VFR is going to be full of new technology, such as, a Dual clutch gear box, and variable cylinder technology. It seems as though there is going to be 3 versions of the bike as well, the "R", which replaces the VFR. The "T", which replaces the ST touring bike and the "X" which will be a new adventure/GS type of bike. The Dual clutch will have 3 modes, complete auto, complete manual and a semi auto with paddle shift and no clutch (F1) style. This link shows it in use Honda Worldwide | September 8, 2009 "Honda Announces the New Dual Clutch Transmission for Use in Large-displacement Sport Bikes--a World’s First".
Here are some more recent pictures as well of the bike in the Alps 2010 Honda VFR1200: Shamu visits the Alps - Hell For Leather. Although they are calling it "Shamu" it's really supposed to be about the same size as the new CBR1000RR bike. Shamu refers to the first pics of the bike that showed it in a black and white paint scheme.
