Default new models

just wanted to let everyone know that as of right now, 11:16PM eastern time, Kawi's website has new models listed. not all of the info is up yet, but there is definitely enough to look at.

First impression. Don't care for the new "color scheme" of the Mean Streak. Looks a little like the new V-Star dark colors or the Suzuki M-50.

so then its official that the zx-14 is considered a supersport or a sport bike and if there site is showing it right, the zx12r is a no go anymore then and the zx-14 is the replacement? I figured the zx-14 was like the zzr1200 replacement and that kawi was gonna bring out some zx-14r based bike that would replace the zx-12r.

night shift here. i agree with the disagreement over the meanstreak paint scheme. i do like the look of the 1500 anniversary.

wish they'd get a smaller headlight on the 2000's. just my opinion

i would tend to agree with that. the ZZR is apparantly gone. i thought it was to be replaced with the 14, but it appears they went more towards sport. looks like they are targeting the Hyabusa crowd.

Exactly. Ms.Meanie knows she is a bada**, she don't need no black shoes to prove it.

For me...if $$$ was not an issue...I could enjoy an 06 Nomad or V2K Classic LT.

Nomad still needs cruise control The Vulcan 800 is gone The Zrx1200r is gone

Wow.... With the exception of the new 650 streetbike this has to be the most depressing model year in my memory.

The all black 6R looks bad @ss! I thought some flames looked OK like the red flames on the gray 6R but other than that I am not digging the flames at all, sorta look like CBRish. Seems like not much changed. What you all think of the 650R?

The ZX14 replaces both the ZX12R and the ZZR. The ZX14 is the ZZR1400 in Europe.

i didn't read too much about the 650R, but it looks pretty decent. are they going after the SV650 with that bike ? the black 6R does looks sweet, but i am partial to all blacked out bikes. i am not much of a fan of flames, so i am not keen on those either.

...I agree, the MS color scheme is horrid.

the 650R looks like a cool, very nice all around bike

..glad to be in Canada,as I noticed that the potent new KX 125 2 stroke)MX bike is not available in the US this year, only in Canada and Europe I guess.

One of my boys is moving to 125 class this year, and although the new 250 four stroke now often dominates that class,I feel it very important to learn to drive properly on the 125 2 strokes in Motocross.Bubba Stewart and RC have proven the 4 stroke world wrong a few times. I find it strange that Kawasaki built this new 125 with the upgrades, then don't offer it in the US??

Ours came in today!!!

i think they are trying to phase out 2 strokes in the US, but that's just a guess. i agree that a good rider on a 2 stroke should be able to spank the 4 stroke. lighter bike, snappier throttle response, but i don't have a ton of dirt time, so take my opinion lightly.

It was always that way before..it took at least twice the cc's for a 4 stroke to compete, nut the last year or 2 the 4 strokes are coming with huge output right from the factory.....and given equal rider ability, the 250 fourstrokes are now dominating the class ,except for a few exceptional riders who are out to prove a point.

The biggest thing is,that the two stroke riders that convert are the fastest ones,as they have learned to control rpm with the clutch and have to learn to keep it on the pipe to be fast on a 2 stroke. put those guys on a new 4 stroke 250 and they absolutely fly........but a new rider that learns on these new 4 strokes.....ehhh...it doesn't work in reverse, lol.

It is true though,2 smokes are on their way out. It is a shame to someone like me,who grew up with them. Especially the last few years. The extreme power /cc is hard to beat, and you can rebuild one at lunch hour and be back to work on time.

that sounds about right to me. i will agree that it definitely does not work in reverse. like teaching someone how to drive in the snow in an all wheel drive SUV and then expecting them to be able to handle a 2wd truck in the same snow. i got ya.
