Well, I've always had Honda's, usually your standard CB series. I never really gave sport bikes a second look. Here recently, there was a Craislist ad for an older - 86 ZX6. Yea I know, It's over 20 years old and a turtle compared to the newer beasts, but for this older guy and one that's never planted his seat on anything similar, it's plenty fast for me! It's not sluggish at all and has plenty of fire. I guess I'll hone my skills on it and probably will want something newer and faster. I see it coming already.
I definitely have cought the Kawasaki bug. Oh, almost forgot to mention. The dude threw in a parts bike as well, an 88 ZX6 with lots of engine goodies and two spare motors. Garrett Last edited by Garrett : 05-15-2008 at 07:45 PM. |

Hey all, I'm Joe and I figured I'd say hello. I look at these forums all the time for opinions from other riders, so I figured I would finally join. I've got a 2007 Vulcan 900 Classic with Metzeler whitewalls that I just brought home a few days ago. It is replacing a 1985 Eliminator 900 that someone stole a few years back.

Hey All
Well I came across this forum looking for parts for my 1994 1500cc Vulcan I am looking for info on how to resurrect my Beauty!! I have been a long time rider in AZ, WA and AK. I have owned over the years a 81 CB750F, 82 CB900C, 94 Sabra 750, Yamaha Maxium 750 (Bought on Ebay), and now my Favorite 1994 1500cc Vulcan. I Got it for $1500 a few years back and come to find out about 2 months later it all started with overheating when I noticed the fan didn’t kick on a ride and the coolant level was not changing in the overflow– as a temp fix did an override to a manual switch. When I went to change the switch, the coolant was totally burnt!! They didn’t even hook up the overflow!! There was a small screw in the fitting on the Radiator neck! I did a complete flush, changed out the thermostat, cap and hooked back up the overflow. It would still run hot especially if it is over 90 degrees outside.. I think over a 3 month period I also changed the oil about every 300 Miles and the plugs a few times. Now, if the bike has been running for about 20 minutes I get a loud whine from right above the water pump. I don’t think it is engine Barings because there is no other noise, knocking or loss of power, burning of oil or smoke, oil in water or water in oil. I have electrical issues to add, from the ignition switch down there seems to be number of shorts. The neutral switch is temperamental, Turn signals don’t work, light will go off on its own, and I know if the light goes out the battery is not charging too boot. – I am at a point that to address all the electrical will be to swap out the whole wiring harness. My thought is that if I sink what I paid for it back into it again I am still doing good because I seen one in this area that was over $3500. If anyone has any ideas, thoughts, or just to tell me that I am crazy to want to bring this beauty back please reply. Thanx! Robert |

Hi guys and gals. I've been checking this site out for a few months now. I am from UA (Upper Alabama) and I have a 2000 Vulcan 800A. I've had this bike for a year now and I am really ****ed that I spent all the other time riding in the mud on an atv and not on the roads on this or any other bike!
My bike has a few minor mods with a new Yellow paint job being the latest. It now matches my 2004 Dodge Rumblebee truck. Anyway I have really enjoyed riding this past year and have really enjoyed the tips and info that i have read on this forum. I hope to see yall on the road sometime! --Pokey (the name is cause I like to ride behind everyone else...tailgunner position.) |

Hello all,
My names Ray and i currently have an 1100 zephyr. Had the bike for approx 3 years now, but have been having some issues with it recently. It runs lovely sometimes but on the odd occasion it seems to bog down alot. Ive had it into the garage, they serviced it, but still problem continued. took it back and they couldnt find anything wrong. Any suggestions?? I know this is the wrong section but im abit of a novice when it comes to websites like this. |
