How goes it,
My name is Brad Bentley. I'm 22 years old originally from Ferron, UT, now residing in Price, UT (125 Miles south of Salt Lake City). I've been married to my Brittany for 3 years now...and we are hopefully not planning on having any children until we're done playing & goofing off! I work as an "AMS Conspec" Mine Monitoring Technician at an underground coal mine just outside of Price, Utah. Dirt Bikes are a major facet of my life...always have been, always will be! I've been riding & racing for as long as I can remember. My forte' & passion is out in the desert, the San Rafael Swell of Emery County, Utah...no spectators, no pressure, no civilization for 80 miles in any direction: Just me & my bike... 100 mph over washes, rabbits, rock & cactus! I absolutley thrive on stomping sagebrush with my Kawasaki. Archery is another major aspect of my existence. I consider myself to be an avid archer...whether it be Mule Deer Hunting at 11,000 feet in the beautiful Desert Peaks of Southern Utah, or competeing for top prize in 3D & Vegas Archery Tournaments. There's nothing like the challenging & brutal stalk of a western Archery Hunt, or the accomplishment felt when I place 12 arrows in a target the size of a quarter. My goal in life/dream job, is to become a professional Photo-Journalist for a major Motocross Racing Magazine & Publication. At 22 years old, my photography has already given me the much needed exposure & recognition that is reqcuired to move forward in the photography business. I started out as an apprentice for a local photographer a few years ago and gained the skill's needed to progress as photographer. I desired to branch out and spread my own wings just a little bit...and so far it has been an amazing ride! Currently I'm covering all major AMA off-road events here in the State of Utah & surrounding states for the #1 Motorcycle Racing Publication in the country: "Cycle News" and also for "Kawasaki Motor Corperation" as well. Hopefully things will only continue to spiral upward from here on out...not everybody has the chance to actually do what they love for a living, and get paid for it. I am eternally grateful that things have progressed this far for me. If you're ever in the neighboorhood of Eastern Utah and have the time...Look me up! I'll be glad to take anybody on a fun & exciting motorcycle ride through the desert, venture on top of the mountains and try to get a good look at "Bambi's Dad", or if you need some photography done (Portraits, wildlife, landscape, sport, etc.) please feel free to get in touch. Thanks for your time...I'm excited to be a new member of the Kawasaki Talk family! Later...Brad Bentley. |

Welcome Jessica. Sorry to hear about your spills, but at least there's the learning experience that comes with it.

Hello all My name is Dan I live in york PA and ride a concours 14 haven't even made my first payment yet and have 4000 miles on it. I have had some problems though it did overheat once and it has an oil leak, but aside from that, I love the bike. I used to ride a HD sporty so I went from one extreme to another. I recently went on a ride through the new england states with a freind that rides an FJR, he then wrote a ride report complete with pics, here is a link to his report enjoy.PA, NY, VT, NH, VT, NY, PA - FJR Forum

Hi everybody!
My name is Rich and I live just outside Myrtle Beach, SC. I took delivery of a 2008 Vulcan 900 Classic last Tuesday. I haven't ridden in over 30 years so It's pretty ugly right now. I anticipated having some issues with my riding skills so I planned my riding on the day I picked the bike up so that I could ride straight roads with lots of stop signs and light traffic until I got a feel for the clutch and shifting. I've got about 300 miles on the bike now and it's getting MUCH better. It's coming back pretty quick but this bike handles a lot different than what I remember. It definitely requires a heavy collaboration between man and machine. No horsing this baby around. ![]() |

Hello everyone! My name is John and live in Atlanta, Georgia. Just purchased my first motorcycle, an '85 GPz 550. Actually I just got home from my first real experience in driving a motorcycle and walked in here to research how to do a tune-up on these. I love the bike, but the ride home was less then enjoyable, especially considering it's my first time really on the road. ....also coincided with afternoon rushour in Atlanta traffic. Unfortunately, that part couldn't really be avoided. The bike ran very well when I test drove it, but after being on the road for about 5 minutes, it started backfiring a lot. Once I got past that 5 minute stretch of straigh-away and hit a traffic light, the bike stalled on take-off. I admit, I'm new and am still learning to modulate the clutch/gas, but that was the first time I had stalled it! From there on it continued to run worse and worse! It started stalling 2-3 times at every stop and required me revving it up and riding the clutch to get it rolling. The backfiring continued to get worse.
I made sure the choke was in and my only guess is maybe old gas??? They guy I purchased it from hasn't ridden it much over the past two years. He put fuel stabalizer in it and had a tune-up done within the past six months. It has vanson - hines (sp?) exhaust with no baffles and another friend suggested that adding a baffel would actually help it run smoother by creating some backpressure. Hello Kyle, I currently own a 1977 KZ650 which has charging problem. The battery is fully charged and currently holds about 12-13 volts but when I ride the bike for approx. 2 hours, the headlight goes dim and the bike cuts off. I'm not sure exactly how the test the charging system in order to pinpoint the problem. Jose
