    hey there everyone.

managed to get my hands on a 95 zx6e that was in need of a lot of love for rather inexpensive for my fiance. she likes the green and white "Buzz" paint jobs that came on these mid 90's rides. we've finally managed to get it running after 2 weeks of work, and there are just a few more minor/not so minor issues that need to be fixed before it's road worthy. i myself am a proud owner of a SV650S. we tried to find her one but since its springtime their prices jumped up quite a bit.

i will find the proper thread to post our little refurb (plus pics) and see if anyone out there has 2 cents to input. thanks to all and i hope we can get her on the road here soon!

Hi all, My name is Michael. I just picked up a 1984 1100 Ltd. What can you guys tell me about this bike? Does the LTD stand for limited or is it just a cool monicar?
I am pretty excited about getting the old girl going ( it has been in the back of a friends garage for the last two years but it looks like it will probably only need a little TLC

Hello all, name's Omar.. just purchased a 09 500r.. its my first bike, and its got only 72 miles on it... Looking to do some reading so any links provided would be great (how to break it in and such) Id like to know if anybody knows where I can get fairings replacements as well (online site) I scratched the underbelly during transport, nothing noticeable, but Iam worried that I will mess it up while I am learning, so I figure I ask the questions now while Iam a new member and can plead ignorance.. thank you...

Welcome Omar, 500 is a nice bike to learn on, not too much power but enough to have fun with. Breaking in a motor isn't hard, just don't over rev it too much. If your red line is in the 800 range I wouldn't run over 600 for the first season. Also you should do an oil change after about 500 miles. By then all the harsh wear from the new engine will be done.
Always check your oil levels, that is the number 1 prevention against early engine failier.
Have fun and be careful, always keep your head up

But good luck! And happy riding!!

New guy on the block here. I am looking for info on the best maintenance manual for my 1500 Vulcan Nomad Fi... tired of the thieves at the "multi" brand shop out here in the desert southwest. Might as well find the time to do the work myself. Any suggestions are welcome.

Ben here in Bluffton SC. Just acquired a 98 KX60 for $75 . Having some issues with it as im sure no maintenance has ever been performed. Its been run up and down a dirt road since new and has some wear but actually a nice bike once it gets clean. I am familiar with Honda fours(street bikes) but not two strokes. It has a poor spark with the plug in it (br8es)? resistor plug. I ordered a br9eix and cant wait for it to arrive. I tried a plug from my 750 Honda testing for spark and got lots of blue against the head so Im hoping the plug in it is bad. It seemed good the first kick or so and dissapear.I tried to look at the magneto and it seemed spotless but I didnt remove it. Couldnt figure out how. Pulled the carb and removed the jet/emulsifier tube all seemed good. the mikuni carb has two overflows?> one from the bottom and one on the side near the fuel inlet correct? I cant even get to fire wth starting fluid!
Thanks for letting me poke around. Ill use the search function!
    Ben

Hey, Bob O here. I just got back into riding and picked up an 84 zn700 ltd. I have owned it a week and put 250 miles on it. I am going to do my best to match that for the next few weeks to get comfortable with the bike. It'll be a challenge though cause I have a few maintenance things to take care of along the way. Great Site, thanks for the education.

My nephew and I on his first ride, last weekend. He had a blast.
