The one I saw had a rag top. At least he was riding and I was stuck in the truck....

The BMW version is interesting. But whats with the seatbelts? Last thing ya want is to be strapped to that thing if you take a fall.

Have a look here. The thing is essentially a roll cage with a drivetrain. Granted, it isn't an Indy car. But as long as your hands stay on the grips, you ought to be reasonably safe in the event of an accident. Sure, side impact protection is a little wanting, but it's really pretty good to still have just 2 wheels and not be a Goldwing.

I gotta agree that in this case, you'd probably be better off being attached to the bike. It would help keep you within the safety frame and ought to minimize injury. I wouldn't try that without the frame, though.

However, I somewhat disagree about your hands on the handgrips on that thing (at least when you're definitely going down). With the seatbelt and safety cage, I'd say your best bet is crossing your arms in front of you and grabbing the harness. Let the solid parts of the bike protect you. That being said, don't let go of the grips if there's still hope of gaining control...

I'd sooner have this Canadian made beast. It uses the Kawasaki ZZr 1200 engine .

I saw one of those on some MTV Cribs show (or something) Some rap star had one, and boy did it scream.

That's cool - minus the luggage. With it attached, it just looks silly.
