Default Funny story.....

Okay, you can all laugh! I feel like a fool!!! Last week riding home, I kept hearing a loud audible alarm going off. It would go off like every 10 minutes. I get home and call Kawasaki and talk to a tech. He tells me there are no audible alarms used for warnings. I tell him there are because I keep hearing them. Anyway, I say thanks anyway and we hang up. I go outside to put the bike away and hear the beep again! I then realize that in the front of my bike I have a pouch where I keep my wallet and cell phone while riding! It was the phone!!! It's a new phone and I found out that when I have a missed call, it beeps every 10 minutes until I delete the missed call!!! I called the tech back to apologize and we both had a good laugh over it.

It reminds me of one night running the master control room at the first station I worked at. I was alone at the station in a room that monitors EVERYTHING, so if something was happening, I'd know about it.

At one point, I get a call from some guy. He says to me, "Why do you keep flipping on and off the air - it's really annoying!"

I ask him if he has the right station, since we haven't been off air at all that evening, and I'd know if we had.

His answer? "You sure as hell have been off the air! Get it fixed!" He then slams the phone down on me in my ear.

At least I can assume you were reasonably polite and you did call back to admit your error. The guy I talked to was a complete jerk and probably was looking at the wrong channel....

Default got one better

When I ride if I'm approaching an intersection with a car I'll honk my honk my horn to alert the car to my presence. Well, while riding with a group I'd been honking my horn for several miles and suddenly one of he guys in the group pulls over gets off his bike and starts to look it over as though something was wrong. When we all got off on the shoulder and asked what the problem was...he said I don't know, I must have some kind of electrical problem ...my horn keeps blowing.

right now I ride a Honda Shadow 600. I've fallen in love with a Kawasaki 900. I actually joined this group to gather info to help me make the decision.

A long time ago when computers were really complex my mom had to use one at work. There was no "windows" back then and if there was a problem with what she was doing her computer would simply beep at her. Well one night I remember the smoke detector in our house was giving a beep signal that the battery needed to be changed, all night long (didnt know the beep was for that at the time though) The next morning before I mentioned the beeping she started telling me about this nightmare she had. She was at work, and her computer was beeping at her constantly, no matter what she did.

In a more modern story. I sometimes get a ringing sound through my old helmet that sounded alot like a cell phone. First time I pulled over and wondered who called. It took me awhile to realize it must be the wind messing with me

Had the EXACT same conversation with the techs at my dealership. However in my case it was just the whistle of the gas tank venting!
