Default The "good time" credit card

Could someone please explain to me how kawi's good times credit works? I mean I know its a revolving credit account unlike an auto loan...but what I dont get is...what exactly can I use it on?

Can I walk into any dealership and use it on any kawi they have on the lot...new or used? Does it have to be a kawi certified dealership? New only?

I tried searching but with google I got to much spam about credit scores and what a good one is

Thanks in advanced

ps. I know it isnt the smartest option as it has a high %...heck i got credit cards with lower rates...im mainly just curious as to what it can be used for.

It's a credit card, if you already have credit cards, why would you want another one? Doesn't sound like any great deal either, quoted from their website: "Standard Rate 17.8% APR. For Accounts not kept current, the promotion is cancelled, and the Default Rate 21.8% APR and the Regular Minimum Monthly Payments apply. "

I have it but I swaid the hell with it. Two reasons...........first, if you know what you are doing, you can finance the bike for 0%. Secondly, if you use the Good Times Card, you'll have a lien on the bike here in NYS. I don;t want the title to have a lien on it since NYS is so shaky about taking them off. I didn;t buy the 2002 becasue the title said it had a lien but the owner said it was paid off. DMV couldn;lt give me straight story either. At least I know that my title for the 2006 will be free and clear.

Thats what I am saying if it is a regular old credit card then I could easily balance transfer it over to one of my 0% apr on balance transfer cards...i just got one that has that promotion going on for a year at 0% and the new rate would be under 17%. But I wonder if my credit card company would allow a transfer from that type of credit account. Has anyone tried that before?

Why not just use the card with the better rate in the first place?

well i wouldnt get the 0% that way it would just be the default rate...

I guess if it were to come down to it I could stick it on the good times card, and try and xfer it over...if that doesnt work I could get a bank loan that would be lower then the 17%...just a lot of trouble though.

Managing credit isn't easy. That's why debt consolidation services are in such demand right now. The average person has around to $15,000 in consumer debt alone. That doesn't include home and car loans.

I bought my 2005 bike on the Good Times card and then successfully transfered the balance to a 0% Discover card without a problem.

The "Good Times" card is actually not managed by Kawasaki. It's managed by "Account Services" and it's the same people that managed my old Sears card back in the day before Mastercard took it over. I'm guessing it's like the Sears card in that it counts as a credit card for reporting purposes, but can only be used by authorized dealers.

I used the Good Times card because of the $49 a month for 2 years at 4.9%, then 9.9% after that. I have been able to send them at least $200 per payment so far but it is nice to know if I am short one month I can send them $49 and still be alright. If you are late the promotion reverts to default rate and payment. I guess you can tell who gets their money first each month. I would hate the default. At two years I may try to get a better rate from my credit union but I will cross that bridge when I get there. So far so good.

+1
I send them $200 a month and will be paid off by the end of the promotion period and you're right - guess who gets paid first?

I'm on the same plan, and will move the remaining debt before the 2yrs is up.

The "good time" credit card will allow you to have a good time until the 17.whatever% kicks in. Then its bad time. Go get you're local institution to pick up the tab at cheaper rates or do a 0% credit card move. Its the only way to continue with the good time plan.

When I went to buy, they asked if I wanted to a Good times card. The % then was 7.9% and that is also the best the bank would do. I said sure and it took them about 2 minutes to issue me enough credit on the card to buy any bike on the lot. I didn't put that much on the card and paid it off in 2 years so I guess I can take my card and buy another bike.

Its a good deal for a "starter" like a 250 where you can sell after two years for about what you paid and pay off the card. The promo is AWESOME till it expires (or you miss a payment). Best financing I ever got was buy on my discover card on a saturday then go to credit union monday and get a loan, and paid my card off...(they considered it new still and the dealer held the paper work for DMW a day anyway since i bought on saturday)...

You might check to see if they will do a balance transfer, some places won't. I had a bad experience with HSBC, So I'm totally against them.

This is how I bought my bike too. If it's not paid off by the time the rate goes up, I will transfer to my credit union (they will only finance 75% of the cost of the bike). The place where I got the bike is always trying to get me to buy accessories with the card. I go there to try on stuff, make sure it fits and then buy online for half the cost I'm not using that card for anything else.
