What year is it? Otherwise, condition? The mileage is, of course, great... can you determine if it has ever been dropped before?

I paid more than that for mine with a few more miles, a 2005~ so id say, as long as its decently new and not been dropped its a pretty good deal.

Year and condition can make a big difference.
For a good to very good condition 250 from 2001 on, $1900 would be a good price (maybe even a 2000).

I meant a model year 2000 not $2000 but it won't let me edit.

Just make sure it starts and idles well. With those low miles, I would suspect that it's been sitting idle for a while, which could clog up the carbs, or at least the idle jets.
Not a big deal, but just a hassle.

If it checks out as a clean bike, then yeah, I'd say it was a steal of a deal.

I will echo pretty much what has been said already... sounds like a steal if it is in good condition. Ask if the 500 mile service was done.

If you do buy it, I might suggest checking the valves anyway since they tend to tighten up and need to be adjusted at the 500 mile service.

Ok update, I got the bike I started the bike it' sound sweet. There is another buyer for the bike but got there first with cold cash in hand. The story is that he bought it from his friend (rich kid?) that upgraded to a bigger bike. The 2005 Ninja 250 he bought it with 850 miles. He got it last june 2006 got it inspected and put 300 miles and bought a CBR600 because he is being smoked by his friends. Bike is clean checked sidings no scrape or skid or scratches on the exhaust. No oil leak Original tires thread still ok. Thanks for the advice guys your input were all been taken for consideration. Words for the day "It's a Steal"

Yup so he put the bike on a trailer and followed me to my house like 17miles away from his house. I started the bike and got to get acquinted with the clutch. So I was wondering if my battery become dead I will try to kick start it so I check the bike to my surprise were is the kick start!!!!!!! Any way runned it for like 9 miles to get everything circulated like gas, brake fluid motor oil and coolant. I was reving it up and release the clutch man it scared the hell out of me the bike jumped. That was my first run but after knowing my new bike a couple of hours it runs smoothly now. Now my next stop is for registration and transfer. Then this coming Oct BRC course. Hopefully everything will done as scheduled..

250 doesnt have a kick start.. just dont leave your key on and the battery wont go dead

with the 250 i wouldnt release the clutch after the 9k rpm range.. a lesson i learned too late that little 26 HP bike WILL stand straight up on you.

if your happy with the bike, then its perfect for you, AND you got a great deal.
