THAT is exactly what I had happen. Since I first rode Ian's(NYCruiser) at RL in 2005, the V2K has never been out of my mind (but I have been) and the other 2 times I have ridden one only served to solidify my resolve to get one.

It was disappointing, and so would be any bike that I ride now that has less power. A step down feels like settling, and you'll never truly be happy.

So, if you no longer want to ride a scoot with less than 125-130 ft/lbs of torque and 100+hp -- don't buy this bike! You have been warned!

How are those sleepless nights now that your waiting to leave to go get your new bike?

I've said this before...but if (when) I won the lottery, I wouldn't buy a different bike. I can't honestly see any other bike out there that I like more.

Now, I may have to buy a second V2K...one for a custom look, the other as a Bagger/Tourer...but my biker heart belongs to no other.

No competition for T. I'm sure she's got nothing to worry about.

When I do finally get to sleep, I dream of riding Lolo to Grangeville......

Once I talk to the seller today, I will be set for leaving Wednesday, probably flying. Coming in for a landing from the West at the Bush airport in Houston, I'll be flying right over the dealership which is basically at the end of the runway. Hopefully they can pick me up and it should only take a few minutes to transfer ownership to ME! Then I'll ride the 20 miles or so to my little sister's and surprise the daylights out of her...

If it ever comes down to having one bike, V2K's a keeper. Bought my '04 as a leftover, and paid less than an ordinary bike would cost *used*. Nothing ordinary about the big twin. Riding with other bikes just doesn't seem fair to them, they seem so... small. I try to remain humble, though...
NICE stable of bikes you got there, Tex!

I feel exactly the same way. Are there other bikes I lust for... sure there are? The difference from any other time in my life, however, isn't my thinking, "I'd really like to upgrade to that bike some day!" Instead, it's... "wouldn't mind having one of those as a second bike."

I don't even consider getting rid of the 2K. In a few years... you can be sure I'll be trading for another or just plain picking up a second. I have a first year model -- no. 1167 to be exact -- to me it's already a classic.

Nice dream!!!

Maybe the dealer will have the bike outside so when you fly over you'll get to see it.

I hope it all goes well for you Kim. Have fun and be safe!!!

It's not just any one reason for liking the V2K or any bike.

As for the V2K, some like the way it handles the open road, solid, smooth and doesn't get blown around. It handles the twisties pretty well for a big cruiser.

Some like the performance, and like "G" said, YES I DO NEED the 125 cu inches. Why? Because there are a LOT of us who enjoy the feel of hard acceleration, and the V2K gives you that. Not Sport Bike acceleration, but about as good as your going to get on a big V-Twin. Including great acceleration from Highway speeds. A lot of bikes can accelerate quickly from a stop or down the 1/4 mile. But to have great acceleration at highway speeds is something else. Just like some of the built VW bugs of the old days, like a 1915cc dual carbed motor, it will run down the 1/4 mile with the big V8's, beat a lot of them too. But at the 1/4 mile, your topping it out, and the big V8 is just getting going. So yeah, I enjoy the acceleration, I need the big motor.

I get 38-40 mpg in town. I get 45 mpg when I'm in the 55-65 mph range on the road, but as I move up to 70-80 mph, it drops down to 43.5 mpg. That just happened on a 400 mile trip to Biketoberfest. So it gets pretty good gas mileage for a big bike also. And I don't baby the throttle either. Some of that was passing other vehicles at 90-100 mph.

The bike feels as solid and smooth at 100 mph as it does at 65 mph. Not all bikes can say that.

I also need a bike bike cuz I am a big guy.

If you want this type of speed/acceleration, you have a few choices in cruisers.

Honda VTX 1800
Suzuki M109
Yamaha Roadliner
Kawasaki V2K
Harley VRod

Now you just have to figure which one you can afford, and which one fits you and your riding style.

The M109 is more of a Sport Cruiser, not really set up for the highway, but fast.

The Roadliner is cool, but it's not watercooled. And its looks are just a tad bit odd, but so is the huge V2K headlight...

Honda VTX is made in several versions. Kinda pricey though, but solid bikes. And it won't give you the Single Pin Crank thump, I believe it's dual pin. If that matters to you.

Harley VRod, Fast as all get out, but a Sport Cruiser also. 3.5 gallon tank, not really set up for the highway.

And my persoanl favorite, the V2K. Not the fastest of the group, but fast enough. And it can be set up for highway use and comfortable 2 up riding, very easy. I also like the more classic look it has.
It is also cheaper than a couple of the other bikes. And it just fit me and felt better to me as I sat on it, than the other bikes did. Plus not all bikes had all the options I wanted, like Liquid Cooling, Dual front Brakes, Fuel Injection, Rear Disc, Single Pin Crank, and Belt Drive. And since Debi had the 900 LT, I wanted to stay in the Kawasaki family.

So choose your poison and let's RIDE.

I don't know how expensive they are, but they have those pads that you open and stick on your body somewhere, but they are chemically activated heating pads.

He may try one of those on a cold day, see if it helps. Also a knee brace made form the scuba suit material, they have a hole in the knee area, give great support, but they keep the knee warm also. I used to get too warm when wearing one during PT in the Army. Helped a lot, but boy my knee got warm. I't's cheap and easy to try.

Just a thought.

Can you picture it? All of us V2K Junkies standing there with big KNOWNING
Grins on our faces...we already KNOW how much FUN your going to have.

We're just watching it all unfold, waiting for you to Sit, Twist, Grin and join the Brotherhood of the V2K Junkie.

Ok, I know someone will take the "Sit, Twist, Grin" out of context.
I'm just not sure who will be first...

They will LordGT because they never have experienced that awesome feel of have all that power. I let a biker from another biker club ride my V2K and I had is Harley, we went down I80 throttles cracked open and the guy riding my V2K just grinned at and waved. We got back to the place of the Poker Run and all the guy could do was tell his buddies what a powerful bike it was. The guy that road my bike had a Harley tatoo on his shoulder and his club were all Harleys. The only thing that made a little worried about swoping bikes is one of the other guys said (How do you know he didn't steal his Harley!)

Sit, Twist & Grin????

In the immortal words of the "Duke"

I won't ... I won't ... The He** I won't!!

I would love to see Kim's face when he turns the key on his V2K the first time, but I wouldn't SIT, TWIST & GRIN for any of you guys

I do love riding Missy, but still ride my 900 as well. I use the 900 for my local runs and take Missy out to stretch her legs a couple times a week. The rush they both give me is still powerful ... The Force is Powerful If came down to having to send one away ... I would miss my 900.
