By the way, Lobocop, what's the story of that topcase you have there?
That was actually an old trunk I had in the garage for many years. I shortened it, painted it, and tossed it on the Nad. Now it is sitting in the garage again

The Nomad would have been the logical choice but coming from a ZRX1200 it just wouldn't do it for me.

Uhhhmmm...I was very curious to see what others would say about their choice of bike and why...hence the point of the poll.

I do want to thank all of you who have posted your views...comments...reasons about this topic.

For me...I have always loved the look of the Nomad and thought it would be my next bike...no questions asked. Since having the opportunity to ride a V2K at Red Lodge last July that bike has been in my mind ever since. Since I enjoy riding a 1500 already I began to think that owning a Nomad would not be much of a departure from the 1500 in many ways so my interest has been focusing on the V2K.

While we will always have our favorite motorcycles to keep us happy and both the Nomad and the V2K are obviously doing that for many...at this point in time...for me...I am seriously looking hard at the Vulcan 2000 LT as my next motorcycle purchase. I'm not in a hurry since winter has settled in now but I sure do enjoy looking at the LT on the Kawasaki website every time I go there.

Two very nice motorcycles:

Vulcan 2000 LT

Vulcan 1600 Nomad

You Will be Assimilated
You Will be Part of the Collective

I do like my LT, but as you and I both have stated in this thread, the Nomad is also a nice ride!

Default V2k

Oh for cryin' out loud, just get the V2k LT. That way you have the best of both worlds in Nomad utility with V2k power. Kind of a no-brainer I'd say....

You don't have the option I would choose...BOTH! I have a '02 red/black nomad efi with harley fairing and trunk with dual baggers, thunder air and tfi. I just picked up an '05 dk. blue metallic (ocean blue?) V2K with just a memphis windshield, Cobra 2-1 and Kuryakyn grips. Love the power of the V2K, love the comfort of the nomad.

I really love the looks of the hard bags but I think of the damage that can occur if the bike goes over. I think it was BigJohn who's Nomad went over and ruined a hard bag. The cost of replacement is pretty steep!

Bought my V2K Classic in July and have loved every minute of it. The Nomad is nice, but I refuse have a bike with bags or a windshield.

I've never really equated needing storage with riding 2up. Unless you need to stuff the passenger in the hard bags

I think I view the hard bags as an absolute requirement because I use my Nomad as my PRIMARY means of transportation. Give it a try, hide the keys to the Cage for a month and make your bike your sole means of transport come rain or shine. I'm sure it can be done without hard bags/saddle bags -but after just a few trips to the grocery store you begin to see why the Nomad is king

Well... I will only ride 2up with a Female and typically.... Females have "Stuff" and need a place to put it.
The Nomad is a beautifull bike, especailly the Black one. But..... I'm partial to black.
