Why bother? Most people who want a smaller cc machine buy a Chinese one for under $1000 and throw it away when it breaks down. Just another part of today's disposable society.

plus if you ever had to work on a Bergman you wouldn't want one. to check the spark plug you have to completely strip every piece of plastic from the front floor boards back.

There are some good scoots out there...you pay more, you get more (usually). Have you looked at Kymco? Those are good scoots. I love the Honda Metropolitan...and if I was going to get another "toy" that's probably what I would buy, but they are only 50ccs. Piaggio makes some really cool, but more pricey, scooters too.

Jeez Scruff, cut the Chinese bikes a break. They are actually not that bad. Those companies employ some of the most talented 12 year old, $1.25 an hour can buy....

Same reason why there isn't a 1600CC or larger bagger. (even though I'd love to see the V2K engine on a bagger/Nomad frame.) Not enough money and remember that MawKaw is not just a manufacturer of motorcycles and ATV's. We (the motorcycle group) are just a minor fraction of the mother corporation.

I've always felt that mopeds and small (50cc) scooters are much more dangerous than bikes that can keep up with traffic. In my mind, you're better off with a bike like the Eliminator 125. Not freeway legal but will keep up with any city street traffic. I just don't like all of these cars and trucks passing me - I'd rather be the one doing the passing.

Yep. I admit it. I was the one who bought the Kawasaki cordless drill set yesterday at Costco, NOT because I needed a cordless drill set, but because it was a Kawasaki.

My Nomie needed some company in the garage. Sure, the Toyota and Nissan are both her countrymen, but she needed a true family member.

This is not good idea IMHO. You can be more flexible.
Just one sample: Toyota has a good (I can say very good) cars: in comparison price/quality. I like Toyota's cars. But toyota's trucks is not such good, Ford's trucks are much better. So I am not such stick there: I have Toyota Camry (mostly for my wife) and F150 for myself.

Ditto. You've got all the disadvantages of a bike, ie exposed, with none of the advantages, ie speed and manuverability.

BTW, I paid 2K for my VN750 used, best decision I ever made.

Talking How about a Peugeot Jet Force 125 Compressor?

This would be a “downgrade” that I could easily live with.
