Default For all you socal riders

I mentioned a few weeks ago about doing a get together to Julian california.
Well, today I went on a lot of the roads we would take ( but didnt get any pie).

We started in oceanside for a meet and greet, then went up palomar mountain, with some nice twisties and scenery.

we continued down the road with trees and some nice straight aways

Unfortunately before reaching the top, we got stuck behind an accident. This is not uncommon on this road, many people think it is a personal raceway. With all the turns and twists ( about 7 miles of them). People either race, or ride beyond their abilities.
All I can say, no one was gonna force me to ride faster than I wanted. We had a few sport bikes whip by us, I just moved to the right and let them go.

Most of the Harley riders were real friendly today though.

The trees were magnificent

The turns were a blast, This is my first pic on my bike while riding

Now after meeting at the top, you get to go down and see even more scenery

This is just some of the scenery you will get to see if you come.
For anyone worried about skill level....dont.
The way the road is, there are plenty of great spots to regroup, and you can ride at your own pace. The mountain is really the only technical part, and I'm not a star in the twisties. I held the group up a little, but they were great about it.
When you come down the back side, its nice country road riding.
The skill level you will need is to be able to ride highway ( we have to, to get to the start point), and be able to negotiate some cross winds that are normal in socal........other than that, its a fantastic ride

That's a fun ride.
My club ran from Redlands to Seaport Village a couple of weekends ago.
Took Beaumont Blvd through San Jacinto/Hemet down through Anza, over to meet up with the SCRC at The Hideout (base of Palomar on the eastern side), then on down through Ramona and in the back door of Poway... slabbed in the rest of the way to the marina.

Not cheap though... $5 for a cheeseburger, $3 for fries, and $8 for a beer.

My schedule is pretty booked with all of my various activities, but your club would be more than welcome to meet up with our club if it's convenient...

2-18 - Ventura Mardi Gras poker run. (At $25/rider I don't think the club is going to make this one... I've got some project that have to be completed anyways, so likely no riding next weekend.)
2-24 - LCR Biker Hangout Tour (Cook's for a break, Hell's Kitchen for lunch, Tom's farm for a break, and Angel's Roadhouse in Calimesa for dinner)
3-3 - Redlands/Idyllwild/Yucca/Amboy/Barstow (350 mile day!)
3-10 - Shooting day in Redlands (not a ride, meeting at the range)

The one on the 24th might be a fun one for you guys to join in from Cook's to Hell's Kitchen or Tom's Farm.
