Its the design of things that bothers me.... ball joints that cannot be replaced without replacing the upper and lower control arms

Why in the heck would you make something pretty simple into a horribly complicated, and expensive design!

Lightweight, high tech, it's the sign of the times.

10 years old, and efi, electronic ignition and other componants take over the old carb units and point type ignitions that plagued people forever with maintanance issues, like tune ups every 20,000 miles etc. Now, at 100,000 miles, you have componants that need replacing is the same as maintanance having to do the tuneups etc. on the old stuff. Plus, if your tech isn't up to speed, that'll raise hell with your wallet as well as your downtime situation.

I've replaced 3 out of 4 O2 sensors, spark plugs + wires (took 7 hours), etc.

Front end is not designed to be serviced, only 2 locations have grease fittings. The parts that don't aren't designed to be replaced individually.

I had 150K miles on my '93 Chevy 1500. Rarely had issue, and when I did, it was easy to fix. I miss the 'ol gal.
