Default Stebel

Installed my Stebel horn today; man what a difference. Any one remember Hooks from the movie Police Academy? That is what it seems to be on my 800. She don't speak so softly anymore. It went from "excuse me please" to "Get the **** out of my way."

See about installing my driving lights next weekend. After I get a new tire on the rear. 9000 miles on the rear and it is gone. The front still looks real good. It looks like it won't have to go until the next rear.

Have a great bike week.

I like the idea of a loud horn. Maybe I'll do the same thing!

Thanks for posting this!!!

And you can get it in chrome (must be louder!).

I installed mine this past Saturday also. I also got the chrome mini and hung it from my highway bar. I wrapped the entire length of the hot wire from the battery in electrical tape just for some added insulation. I didn't want to chance any chaffing of the insulation and potential problems that could cause. I went through a couple of fuses in the process. And, I think I had a bad relay. The first time I tested it it wouldn't shut off and I had to pull the wire off the relay. That blew the horn bike's horn fuse and thankfully not the horn switch. I replaced the relay and fuses, and everything now is good to go. And yes it is 'LOUD'.

Alright! It's an epidemic now!!!
Chaz just installed his new chrome one Saturday. He couldn't go with the location suggested by the crashbar because he has engine guard chaps. They would be in the way. So, he found another space for it.

When he hit the horn I jumped!!!! Man that horn is loud!!!!!!

I got mine at Harbor Freight for about $35.00. It did not say Stebel on it, it said WO/LO. They have to be made in the same place. They are identical, mine is not all chrome, but rather the black.

I used the original horn bracket, which was good and solid. It has chrome on it and really looks good under there.

I've got a relay mounted behind the original horn, and ran the wire from the old horn to run the relay. New 12AWG wires back to the battery and to the horns for the high amp loads (18 Amps for the Stebel). I have a 20Amp in-line fuse as well to protect the circuit.

That sounds simple enough. So you've got both horns working? How does it sound?
