Great shots, Julie, took you long enough!

That last shot looks insane

Now start playing by the rules and post up the signs

Well, unfortunately the _______ Pass xxxxft sign hadn't been replaced yet, (guess it frequently disappears over winter, according to some trail bike guys I met) but this is my bike at Stampede Pass, Washington State. Elevation in my map is listed as 3750 ft. Had to go up 4 miles of dirt road to get there! I feel I should get credit, even though the "formal" sign was missing, for the following reasons:
a. 4 miles of dirt road
b. on a steep hill
c. in the rain
d. on a Softail Harley!

My bike at the pass, YOU ARE HERE sign in background. The bare pole behind it is where the "Stampede Pass 3750 ft" sign is supposed to be, according to some trail bike guys I met up there.

Close up of the YOU ARE HERE sign

Got this on the way back, this is where the pavement ends.

Credit is yours, friend... any riding with snow on the side of the road is hard-core!

So how many passes do you have under your belt now then (in the game, of course )?

I hit a low pass this weekend with a buddy of mine, unfortunately I left my camera at home and therefore have no proof. But I'll be hitting it again soon, and I also saw that there is the possibility to hit another pass in the vicinity, so I'll be catching 2 birds with one stone

Glad to see this thread is being kept alive

Cool! Thanks for the credit.

Just starting out on my passes this season. I'll try to knock out a few more this week.

Technically, I did go over Snoqualmie Pass (3022 ft) on the way to Stampede Pass, but considering Snoqualmie Pass is on a four lane per side expressway, even though it might meet the letter of the rules I didn't feel it met the spirit of the rules. So I didn't bother stopping to get a picture of the sign.

I admire the spirit with which you are approaching our little competition but... in your place I would have taken the shot

Thank you!

Are the two of you up for North Cascades Pass this weekend? I'm thinking of heading up there Saturday the 16th. I'll post another thread in the Rides and Rallies section.

I would love to, but it's my little sister's graduation and family is in from out of town... so probably no riding at all for us
On that note, however, Nate and I were able to go out for our first ride together yesterday! It was a blast! Just jotted down for a nice Sunday breakfast and breezed around town... the only regrettable thing was that we didn't have more time!

Have fun on the ride Bill!

WHITE PASS, WASHINGTON STATE

Beautiful day for riding today, so I figured I'd knock out a few more passes.

But...

My brilliant "3-in-1" plan was foiled by a landslide.
Oh, well, they say no plan has ever survived first contact with the enemy, so such things are to be expected. So, today was White Pass only.

Some neat cliffs on the way up.

White Pass

Mt Rainier

Mt Rainier with those funky UFO-type clouds starting to form up.

All in all, a great day's ride. No complaints!

AWESOME!!!

I particularly like the shots of the cliff and Mt. Rainier

So are we going to bother keeping count or what?

Unfortunately, I'm stuck at 4 and will be for the next month since my license has been suspended

Ouch, what happened? It's not from your accident is it?

No, I ran 2 red lights last year in the cage, and in Italy we have this law that states that if you commit certain infringements twice in a 2-year time span, your license gets suspended for a month. With all the burocracy, the suspension came through now right in the middle of riding season

BTW I know those lights like the back of my hand and was putting absolutely no one in danger... I just didn't notice they'd put cameras up!!!

Sorry, that stinks Stefano. I have my own thread going about photo radar... Jodie and I have been nabbed 3 times in the past few weeks, over $600 in fines. If it was a red light camera how do they know it was you driving? Over here, our photo radar and red light cameras mean you as the registered owner of the vehicle get a fine in the mail, but because they can't positively say you were the one driving, it's strictly a monetary fine, you don't get any points on your license like you would if you got pulled over for speeding by an officer. Hope the month goes by quickly for you.

Do you need a license to ride your scooter?

Bummer, Stefano. Well, a BMX bicycle can be great stress relief during periods of license suspension.

Damn law enforcement

You're hitting a nerve, Brent! I COULD have avoided the license suspension of my girlfriend had been willing to accept responsibility for one of the infractions. Here you only get let off if you find someone willing to sign a form that says "It wasn't him, it was me" - otherwise the points get taken from the owner of the vehicle Anyway, I didn't ask, she didn't offer... and now I'm on foot for a month!

Thanks for the wishes, it's already been... oh no, wait... only 3 days... NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Bill, ain't got a BMX! But I'll have to find something to blow off some steam!

Brian... why you biting your lip? You ain't implying I was at FAULT I hope???

Ahh... Stefano, dude, running lights... dude... don't forget the cameras, you know those nasty little spy devices, trying to trick us out! Oh, did I mention that the police and traffic control are using red light and radar cameras to catch us out at the lights? I did, cool, don't forget the lights, oh you did, dude. Don't ya hate that? Seems to me though, your country's rules are a little stiff, bad luck there mate. Luckily we only have out 4 sets where I am, nah, no cameras here......... yet. Plenty of HwyPatrol though.
