Default Tip toeing through the tulips

We have finally been having some fine weather up here in the Pacific North Wet. Saturday, six of us got together for a cruise out to the opening of the Skaget County Tulip Festival. This weekend was the opening of the Festival. Nancy and I met up with Duke and his bride in Marysville and took the freeway up to Mt Vernon for lunch where we met up with Duke's friends from Anacortes.

After a nice lunch at Steel Dreams we motored out into the tulip fields where we literally tip toes through the tulips. After all the flooding this past November we weren't too sure if there would be any bulbed left to bloom. Shouldn't have been concerned. As you can see, the fields were beautiful.

Most of the photos are at "Tuliptown." The area has many acres of tulips in all shapes, colors and sizes. The blaze of color just takes your breath away.

After riding through the farmlands we said so long to Duke's friends and headed toward Conway then to Stanwood. Beautiful back roads. We raced two ultralights that were flying overhead along Pioneer Road. I called them motorcycles of the sky, Nancy says' they sound like lawn mowers. She's right on that account.

From Stanwood we headed down Marine Drive and the return to Marysville. The ride between Conway and Marysville is a delight. Farmers fields on either side until you enter the forest for the final 15 or 20 miles. Then it's gentle curves and mild speed limits. Just a fine cruise. Enjoy the pics.

Purty flowers and purty bikes, what a great combination.

Great Pics BigJohn, and looks like it was a great ride as well. Waiting for the weather to warm up a bit here in central Ohio, it's still in the mid to high 20's.

That they do. I could never get up the nerve to have a hole punched in my ear. I hate needles in the doctors office, why in the world should I get a needel in the ear? Never made sense to me. 'Sides, I look silly in jewlery. It's bad enough to wear a watch and wedding rings.
