Default Southern Californians/Angelenos, want to take a ride?

What's up Californians. Anyone want to hook up and take a ride next week? I can go Monday, Wednesday, or Friday. I live in Alhambra (eastern edge of the City of LA), I would be willing to ride in LA, San Bernardino, or Orange counties. I've rode all the branches off CA-39, CA-2, all around PCH and the Santa Monicas, and many little crazy roads such as Little Tujunga and Stunt Road and am familiar with many more fun roads. If anyone wants to ride any of those or just cruise new territory or whatever, hit me up. I will push the limit a little to have fun, but I always ride safely, I don't ride like a squid or a moron, and I keep my bike and myself in excellent shape. All of my friends that ride are either at work, broken, or out of town during the day next week, so I must appeal here. Seriously though, it'll be fun. I'm a student and I have nothing to do next week, so if anyone wants to ride or organize a group run for next week, post here. If anyone wants to meet up and see if our riding styles are compatible, we can do a short run up CA-39 or some such.

I was wondering if "SGV" meant San Gabriel Valley when I first started to see your sign-on. Figures you'd start posting after I move from Montebello to Buena Park...the story of my life: A day late and a dollar short.

I can't make it during the weekdays but if you plan a ride during a weekend a couple of weeks in advance, I'd love to join (if I tell my wife that I'm going for a ride two weeks in advance, she can't say sh!t when it's time to roll and she wants to do something else that day).

Have you tried riding Turnbull Canyon? Another rider mentioned it to me a couple of months ago but I never got a chance to ride it before I moved. Look up Painter and Beverly Blvd's in Whittier in Google Maps. The guy who mentioned it said that it's about 6 miles long but what it lacks in distance it makes up for with some pretty good turns. You shouldn't be more than 20 minutes by road away from it.

Old 39 is where Azusa turns into 39 right? I did a part of that back in January and it was a blast! I noticed that a lot of 4X4's and dirt bikes go up there. Hope we can hook up with a group in the near future.

2Wheel, well ya' never know, right? You used to live in Montebello? That's too bad, we could've hit up a lot of spots around here seeing as it's only a five minute drive. I used to work at the Countrywide on Walnut Grove (by WalMart). I can do a weekend for sure, next weekend is good, and the Sunday after that, I was going to try to do a trackday next week but I don't know if I can get the bike ready and get a ride to Fontana in time. Canyons will suffice I suppose. Anything in May is good except for the first weekend of the month. I'm up to go anywhere. Eidian, no I haven't been to Turnball canyon, but I'll check it out for sure. CA-39 is what Azusa Ave. turns into. It takes the name "San Gabriel Canyon Road". It's awesome. When you're free and depending on wherever the riders live we could take a run down either Ortega or up somewhere into the San Gabriels. I've been wanting to try a loop with Angeles Forest and a couple of other roads. Angeles Crest ought to be completely reopened in a few months, I will definitely be going when it does. I went there a few weeks ago, I didn't see a SINGLE other vehicle for about 30 miles. Anyhow, tell me what your schedules are and we can figure it out.
