I'm working on getting a storefront up and running now while Kawi is working on getting the items produced. We should have it worked out pretty soon! If anyone has any more ideas in the meantime, let us know please.

It would be nice to put a face to the people that we see and chat with...maybe a picture of Staff in front of the store could be posted.
I wanted to see special monthly things ordered for the forum people only, and I was told "Duh" go to the Beartooth Kawasaki Website...gee, I must have forgotten that the website changes while we are on the forum...so why not have just a FOURM ONLY SPECIAL that would actually come from Kawasaki and Beartooth wouldn't have to spend a dime in inventory? Like what??? maybe a Kawasaki piece of clothing, like a T-shirt, Kawasaki ballcap...something Kawasaki... How about telling us about a special place that we could stay in Red Lodge if we wanted to buy a new bike and spend the night there. How about a ride from Billings to Red Lodge? OF course there would have to be our credit card approval at the place in Red Lodge..can't expect Beartooth to put us up for free... You may think that I'm Kidding...read my postings...you know that I'm serious. Summer, rather spring would be a great time to come up and get a bike to ride home. ANybody can ship a bike. but to go someplace special and purchase it, have it set up and then to ride it home...that is worth some serious moments in brain cells... |

ZX ! You don't think you can ,hop a plane-grab a room -buy a bike-and head home DO you. Your going to be in one of the most beautiful places in this country, first beartooth pass is right out side the dealers door, an you have to ride it. next your within 50 miles of yellowstone national park ,you gotta see that,or about 80 miles from cody (buffalo bill muesum)you will have to pull in there for a break look around. As you can see there is to much to do on the way home. Besides you don't think we let people blow in to MONTANA an grab a bike an leave ? I think it's a state law we voted on today . Anyone flying in to town to grab a bike an leave, has to stay a minumn of three days in the area, then you can leave the state. Now just to make sure you serve your three days of riding

Actually, I was sort of planning on doing some break in time and had al least 1,000 hours on it before I left. Never know about a bike before then, even if it is a new one. Just need to make sure that there is a washing machine and dryer handy. As a sailor, I have to wear clean clothes, and I travel very light, a back pack should get me through just about anything, or I'd have to buy an dsend home wha tI dodn't absolutely need on the trip. My trip from San Diego to Kansas City and back was fun when I was a kid in the Navy. I had extra stuff at home, and I had what I needed back on the ship, kinda wierd to cross two worlds of living styles...but it was fun. Thank you for the awesome words. I told Karen that the trip could take a while as I wasn't going to take a single Interstate any further than absolutely necessary. Ther are to many US Highways still out there and to many sites to see htat yo ujust don't know about when you take the super slab at the MAXIMUM SPEED LIMIT along with the cars and trucks...I'll definately let EVERYONE know on the FORUM when I am going and what I get an then when I get home thre will be a Rants&Raves Specialist Report. (Have to admit I like the Montana Law idea...sounds like something Beartooth should post on the showroom floor!)

ZX , can't you ever be satisfied ? What exactly are the probabilities that any number of people are going to drop everything and fly to Montana to pick up a motorcycle ?
Running a dealership leaves enough to time also become travel agents ? Come on now be reasonable ! Not everyone has the free time you do, to even start thinking about all these grandiose ideas you come up with . Working on step one right now, step two will come later.

Uncle Bob, you sound like my worn out wife wanting to know if I can ever be satisfied. I don't expect more tha a hand full of people to even try to do what I like to do. From my Navy days I learned that Traveling through the US Highways was the best way to travel if you wanted to see anything. I'm not out to start some ghost town revival of Red Lodge, MT, or cause a bunch of USA flags and banners riding through Canada...Rouge Riders of Red Lodge Beware...NO infact I dowubt if anyone would be interested in doing what I plan on doing. Riding around Montana on a new bike, getting a grand on the odometer before starting the trek home...nope...Just interested in finding a place to hang my ball cap when I'm out on my bike. Someplace I can stretch out and know that amy stuff is gonna be there when I get back...I'd rather stay in one place than a half dozen places. As for a ride to Red Lodge, If Beartooth isn't capable of finding someone traveling the distance, the I have a couple of contacts in Billings, in fact my wifes boss, has a sister living there, or I could even email a couple of Forum members...I know that I could find the time in Kansas City to run someone across town...So getting to Red Lodge isn't a problem. Having a bike that I want may be, if they are so small...but I don't think that they are so small that they couldn't find a bike for me before I arrived especially with 3 or 4 months advanced notice...Crossing the Border into Canada might be an option, but I'm not sure from your message whether you are just getting cranky, old or pulling my little white legs to see if I will hollar! Of course I have no feeling in my legs so it was kinda retorical. Wouldn't it be so cozy to find Uncle Bob and drop in on him? Okay only kidding...But I'm not kidding about buying a smaller bike and putting some hours in riding around in some scenic circles that I have found in my atlas. may take me a week of riding and absolute cleaning and getting the checkups done before I'm ready to make the trip on southward...sure would be great to have things all in order. As far as being satisfied...Should I be satisfied with not finding the true beauty of the wonders of our planet, and the people on it? I find even the people from MASS were fun once I figured out what they were saying. I enjoyed fish chowder, fishing a new way, and eating new fish nad all completely different. Clam Chowder is completely different. I know that my dad went up to Canada on one of his hunting/fishing trips and they shot moose and caught fish...and took allsorts of pictures...and the plane came back to pick them to pick them up righ ton time...I'm not adventourous...I like to ride and to see things, but I like the conviences of warm water and comfortable beds, somebody else cooking...I'll le tyou know and definately let Beartooth know what I want and have it all arranged before I start knocking on doors and thumbing for rides. I prefer having a motorcycle actually in stock and paid for well before arriving. setting it up and doing maintenance on it once I am ther is something else...

Love to poke fun at Uncle Bob! What a guy! Just because he lives on the other side of the border doesn't get him away from the Rants&Raves Specialist picking on him. Bob gets so confused that he forgets how to spell his name so even if he spells it backwards no one is the wiser. We know that he is sharp, but he's not as slow as he lets on either...can't be and be on all the other sites as well...yep, Uncle bob...Brada, several people known around the sites...Maybe someone hasn't been keeping great tabs on me...but I've cruised several sites...HA-HA and I've even used ZX-2R on a couple of them! Although I'm interested in KAWASAKI's, I try to stay abreast of other m/c news. You heard of Studebaker Motor Company, 2004? Just wondered...Texas is a great place to build an American Motorcycle...and it's going to look funny with a Kawasaki setting in the Factory parking lot. I'm not so sure I'm ready to wear a white collar, but I am sure that a Kawasaki will be setting in my parking spot.

hey, us MASS folks can be fun, well, sort of. maybe not, after all a bunch of them voted for the other guy !!! thank the Lord Texas and the other states saved our butts !!!
chucks everytime you talk, i want to move right out there. i think my wife and kids would shoot me though. guess i'll have to wait until they are old enough to move out, then i'll drag the wife out there. i have only seen MT in the winter, so maybe i will have to drop in next summer, if i do a multi-state ride like i am hoping. only time will tell.....

Ispeed your gonna have to tell the wife a forum member already got a bed an a sled reserved in Feb. for a week, an since there's no refund you hate to see the money get wasted with no return. When you get home after your trip in FEB. you'll have to tell her you already have a trip booked in July! Will you still be married after these two trip's this next year? You will have to tell here a new house just won't fit in the plan's for the up coming year. I was just giving ZX a hard time being I grew up an lived my first 40 yrs. within 20 miles. of gardner KS. My mom still lives within 20 miles of him so I'll be looking him up for a beer an a burger next trip to Shawnee.

ZX2R, Uncle Bob works very hard on this forum as well as all people we have as moderators and admin's. Sometimes I wish all of our members could see what goes on behind the scenes, the pm's and e-mail's that you send constantly complaining, being rude, causing problems in the threads by feeling the need to be impatient and sarcastic as a source of entertainment for yourself. You must understand that everyone here is a volunteer and I take great offense when you make post's to Uncle Bob or anyone with the tone of being the Rants and Raves Specialist. I'm sure you don't understand that is not fun for us or the other people which is 99.9% of the people on this forum to read your condesending posts. Now I am going to tell you for the last time I will not have someone on this forum causing problems and I don't care what you reason for doing it is and I don't want to hear it. If you are not happy with the time we dedicate, the progress we make, the growth of the forum or anything else and can't find a way to be an asset and not a pain in the *** I suggest you find another forum.

Oh and P.S. don't send me anymore pm's, don't call me, don't e-mail me. When you want to be nice you can be and sometimes you can be an asset but that is way to seldom for me. This forum is to be fun and will be. I didn't spend the money, take the time and ask numerous people for there help by creating and being a part of this forum to have someone like yourself make it not fun for all of us to be here!

Gees' I'm not being a bad guy. I promote Safety, Kawasaki, and Clean fun, in that order. Uncle Bob and I have a mutual fun time...I have meant no disrespect, to , Beartooth Kawasaki in reference to anything, or anybody! That would go for Kawasaki USA as well. My position right now is with the my wife in serious hospital care, and no insurance to cover things...no big deal for you, but this is my lifeline. I respect my elders and have served my 20years and am a Disabled Veteran with complications. I will if you say to remove myself from the forum, voluntarily, if you say to...I though t I was doing good not evil... I'm Sorry.

It's always sad to hear about someone's personal troubles - we all have them. Why is it appropriate to bring up your wife's health and your disabled veteran status in a thread that has absolutely nothing to do with that? I'm sorry to hear about your personal troubles, but please don't use them to guilt us into being easy on you or to pity you. That's not fair, and it's not appropriate. If this is indeed a "lifeline" to you, then I'd suggest that you mellow out and think about how your post could be interpreted before you hit the submit button. It could help you to avoid clashes with the mgmt in the future.

well....
on a lighter note. chucks, that's a good one, i am sure she would appreciate that. no wait a minute, what she would appreciate is the house and wonderful child support payments that she would receive from me shortly after i returned. the worst part about that is that i would have to work a second job and would not have time to be with my kids, let alone my bike. of course that would be the worst case scenario, hehehe !!! i have to butter he up, since i am hoping to take maybe two weeks next summer and just ride. i was supposed to go to AR this summer to visit a friend, but that fell through and earned me brownie points at the same time, hehe. believe me, i am working on her slowly. what i need to do is get her to get over her fear of flying so she could come with me out to MT in the winter, now that's a thought !!

To me that would be part of the customer service. If a customer is willing to come that long a way that buy a bike I would definitely at least help them find a good hotel room. If I am not from around there I wouldn't even know what available in the area.
Happy customers bring other happy customers to your door step. Heather

Get this - I'm flying out to the east coast New Hampshire to a dealer called BCM Ducati. They are putting on a winter tech class on Ducs on valves and belt changes plus all the basic maintenance on the Duc.
The point is they have already got the skinny on the local hotels for me and have helped me arrange my stay. Should be fun. I wish my local dealer did this kind of event with the first class touch.

I don't think recommending a local hotel is unreasonable; that's not what I said. And that's not what I got out of his post, Kyhick1. I think that finding him a place to stay - as in researching what would best meet his needs, booking a room for him, or finding someone who would be willing to let him crash on their couch is a bit too much to expect from the dealership though. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's just my opinion. That's quite a bit different than a customer saying, "Can I find a room in Red Lodge for around $80?" and us saying "Sure, try the Super 8. Here's the number."
Also, Heather, it might be a little different if the customer in question hadn't spent the better part of two years emailing, PMing and calling our 800 number to bother, harrass and complain to the staff for no good reason. Call us crazy, but that makes us a little less eager to jump-to with the "first class" customer service for this guy. I think it would be a whole different story if the customer had treated Beartooth Kawasaki differently. We've tried to help him, we've been polite to him, but he is impossible to please. You can only bend over backwards so long before your back breaks.
