So I got my bike about 3 weeks ago (07' Ninja 250) and yesterday I had to take her for a pretty long trip. Long for me at least being a new rider. I had never been on an interstate with my bike yet, but yesterday I had a 3 hour trip down the PA turnpike. After I got used to the wind it really wasn't that bad. Although after a while on the turnpike I was really looking forward to getting off. Once I got off the turnpike it was about another 45 minute ride. Overall it was pretty enjoyable, I liked the non interstate riding much better though. Only thing is next time I should wear ear plugs, from all the wind for so long I could hardly hear when I got off.

Like you I enjoy riding back roads much more than running on an Interstate. Of course if you need to make some quick miles and can use the faster roads it's nice.

+1 Nothing like a good long stretch of a stop sign-free backroad. Less traffic to worry about, easy pace, and the scenery tends to be a lot more interesting that miles of asphalt & concrete.

Yeah, interstate pretty much sucks, unless you have to get somewhere in a hurry. The back roads are so much better.
Glad to hear you did so well with that long a trip on the 250, though.

I had a nnja 250 once, reminds me of a volkswagen bug, doesnt do anything perfect, but still one of the best vehicles ever made.
The ninja 250 has a lot of pick up, handles well, gets great gas mileage, and its only $3,000. you can not get more for your money anywhere...........I hope kawasaki makes it forever

yeah, i just love crossing state lines for some reason. Funny thing is, when I decided to get a new cruiser, everyone said I needed a 1000cc plus to do long distances.
yet my old vulcan 700 went to almost every state in the union with no complaints, and it never strayed from stock except the saddlebags
