Well it seems that we'll have a few of these threads showing off some pictures from Spok's Annual BBQ and Ride.... what's another one
Unfortunately, Nate (King Buzzo) and I were not able to make it up for the morning ride (had to wait for the grandparents to pick up our son), but we had a nice leisurely time riding up the 65 miles to the Casa de Spok. Along the way a fellow Kawasaki rider (on the super sweet looking KLR650) followed alongside and for a while we thought he might be going to the BBQ too! But alas, he took the exit before us (his loss!). Nate and I arrived at Dave's wonderful and welcoming home with minutes to spare before we heard the sounds of thunder rolling towards us Here they came, one by one: ![]() ![]() The line-up of bikes was impressive ![]() My little Ninja looked like a little fish in a sea full of sharks, but Angie's 250 was there to give mine some company. Oh, did I mention I got mine over the 100MPH mark for the first time on the ride up? She ran at 12k RPMs and I have to say that I could get used to that speed!Something about my little sportbike made a few of the fellas offer me the keys to their cruisers.... it was tempting, but I had to refuse hehehe. Instead, I took a backseat on Cary's (2WheelFun) gorgeous 'King Kahuna' and had a blast. The one and only other time I was a passenger on a bike I was 10 yrs old.... can you tell how excited I was to be riding 2-up with him? He and his wife Shirley were absolutely wonderful people! ![]() Here's the obligatory pic of the Spok Man himself. He was a grilling machine!!! Ribs, burgers, brats, chicken... you name it, he was grillin' it up! ![]() Meal time was perfect under the tall evergreens: ![]() A few of us had to head out of town before dark, so we made sure to round up the gang for one last pic prior to heading out. Unfortunately, a couple of guys are missing. ![]() Nate and I rode w/ BigJohn and Rod2625 on the way out of town. John pulled off to his exit and left me in the lead... according to Nate, I was going entirely too fast... Roger, sorry about that if I was... I'm an awful group rider! We had a great time meeting everyone, checking out the bikes and just shooting the breeze. It was a great day! Dave, thank you again!!! Last edited by Svetlana : 08-07-2007 at 12:36 PM. |

Thanks Bonnie.
We never seem to get enough of the pics and good times that everyone seems to have. So much more enjoyable than the depressive news we see everyday.
