A lot of times with sport bikes I am really lenient, because I know they could very easily not have stopped and I don't want to encourage something like that. Again, here is my disclaimer, not all cops are "cool" like me about it. Best advice, don't be a arrogant prick and your chances are much better. I know there are cops that are jerks, and they **** the "cool" ones off, but don't believe we are all like that. Us that actually care about the public we swore to protect are always very professional and respectful and demand that same respect.

Plus, if you are speeding, all bs aside, you deserve a ticket just like everybody else... bottom line.

And no... I won't get rid of your ticket for you.
SD,

What? You are what kind of dawg? Speeddawg? Don't you mean Super Troopin "Law Dawg"? I gather from your last post you are a with the KHP? What is your patrol area? I will have to come see if you are hiding out at the donut shop, or looking for 10R's hauling the mail................LOL

Tina,

Speeddawg was the rider of the green zx6r that was parked in front of the dealership when we met to head out to lunch. Just missed us, dang it.

Have you met him face to face yet? I hope the next time you see him he won't be in uniform!

Nope, I have not met him yet, I would like to since he is the closest member to me. I personally wouldn't care if he is in uniform or not, I "try" to obey the traffic laws, but as I am human, I do look down at my speedo from time to time and go "oh crap".................LOL

Well Tina,

It very well could be a woman, when I finally get the chance to do a meet and greet I will either confirm or deny this. Until then, I guess we will all wonder together.

LMAO. "Him" is indeed a woman, with long hair .

Tim, I patrol mainly JC area, I-70 and sometimes 77 north of JC . I also work Manhattan and Abilene areas, but Clay Center is out of my zone, although I am capable of working there, and have a time or two, since it is within KS borders. I have a blue car, for now, and am about the only female Trooper in the area that one is likely to encounter. I had to work the game KSU game this evening otherwise I would have responded earlier. I do hope this clears up some confusion and hopefully does not scare any one off. Honestly though, how many cops do you know that have a sportbike? That must mean I'm cool, right??? If y'all knew me it would all make sense.

Everybody dies, not everybody really lives... that's sorta my motto. Plus, I love the movie Braveheart.... lol.

Cops are cool in my book... I work in Fire/EMS so I have a respect for anyone in public safety. Aren't those college football games lovely to work?! I'm on for every Rutgers game... "fun" times

One of your buddies got me around the 144 mile marker on I-70 west back in May.

I did a double take when you pulled up. It is unusual to see a male sportbike rider with that long of hair!

There was a thread not long ago about how you can always tell that it's a woman on a m/c. I said they were wrong, gear hides gender pretty well.

Glad to see another woman on here, especially one that does a "mans" job.

We have two sportbike riders that work for the Springfield PD. Both are excellent riders, and do everything they can to sportbikers in a good light.

SD,

Well actually, several, one of the Deputys here in Clay County rides an 05 Zx10R.

Lucky you getting to "hang out" at the game. I was in Manhattan yesterday and alot of people were in early for the game. I had never had a problem finding a table in any resturant, much less ever had to wait to get a table, but it happened.

The offer to do a meet and greet is still there whenever you are ready. Cops don't scare me, even KHP speeddawgs that have long hair, and are female............LOL

If you had come outside that day at City Cycle you would have gotten a "you're speeddawg" along with a surprised look, but I know alot of female riders and it would have been cool to meet another forum member especially another ZX rider. I didn't even think anything about the "real name" since around here there are alot of guys who have names like Gail, Kim, Shirley etc. So come on Jodi, lets do a meet and greet!! Line the ZX's up and have a photo op. Or maybe get together when you are on duty and stage a "pull over"............LOL

Tim

Once for having my visor flipped up while sitting at a stop light in a small town. The officer admitted he used it as an excuse to make sure I had an endorsement. Many of these mentioned laws vary so much across the nation that they are not worth mentioning. Washington still has a law that says the WSP can pull me over just to make sure I have a drivers license or my vehicle has no equipment violations.

Zero. I've only been riding for 3 months. But I wanted to say, my hubby has been riding for 3 years (also not pulled over while riding) and he got this bright yellow Olympia jacket this year, which apparently looks like a jacket that cops wear, so cops constantly wave to him while he is riding.

This is the jacket, if you are curious - Olympia Moto Sports - Men’s Airglide 2 Mesh Tech Jacket

I've been riding since June 23, 1971 and have NEVER been pulled over on a bike. Got a ticket in the mail once for eluding pursuit but beat it.

In my car? 1 time in the past 10 years and it was an excessive speeding ticket that I had no recourse on but to pay the huge fine and get 2 pts on my record, and see my insurance go up. On my bike? 0 times...I did have a friend get pulled over and he was being stupid on my local road which is mined with many sheriffs and CHP...The CHP cop on bike did not give him a ticket after I told him I lived in the area...Yeah, you only get pulled over if you do anything wrong.
