I was told once that if we "look" (helmets, gear, ect...) likle we know what we are doing we will be less likely to be pulled over. Is this in fact true?
Yes I am.

Same as car drivers. Follow the rules of the road and in general don't ride/drive like a jerk. Usually what will get my attention in a negative manner is when someone's got some sort of after market exhaust that's so loud it's obnoxious and the aforementioned squids.

If you do get pulled over, well, try not to have an attitude, you'd be suprised how many people would have gotten warnings had they not started off our conversations with, "what the @$#% did you pull me over for?", or the "you pulled me over because i'm (insert color here)" or the ever popular "why'd you pull me over? Don't you have something better to do that to harrass me, why don't you go and go catch some real criminals!". By and far we (patrol people) know that hey, if you stopped, chances are you aren't axe murders from Omaha (no offense to axe murders or those that live in Omaha), so if the reason you were pulled over wasn't because you were 20+ mph over the speed limit, doing wheelies down the street while cutting me off and flashing me gang signs, it's all good.

Now dats funny I dont care who you are.........LOL

Great "tips" to be sure, I was told by one of the RCMP's here that a quality jacket and helmet go a long way in NOT being pulled over. Clean un damaged Plastics (insert Ninja Bikes here) go Less noticed. passing traffic (within reasonable speeds) will get you noticed but may not get you pulled over if your gear and bike "look" up to par. I got stopped on the Eliminator (he actually didnt stop me just pulled up next to me at the stoplight) just to inquire "what exactly was I rideing?"
Many of us have a great respect for the law officers out there but if I was one I would pull over every single rider I saw in a t-shirt and shorts ~flip-flops/sandles~ If nothing more than to inquire "Why?"
