Default Socal ride report

First off, thanks to a few people

James ( Metalltguitarded) - This guy drove about 100 miles to the first stage point, plus another 47 to the second stage point, plus the ride, and the return home, definetly deserves the Iron butt today
( P.S. - in pictures you cant stand too close to me.....all those muscles ,make me look like a fourth grader.)

Other riders - My daughter joined us for her first group ride, thanks to everyone for treating her so well

NOW THE RIDE...............

We left starbucks near me with 8 bikes, and rounded it up to 16 at the first stage point, then went north 45 miles and picked up the rest to bring it too 38 riders

we finally had some sporties with us, and about 9 harleys or so, Lavroc, BTK and HSN riders finished the group

We made some mistakes in organizing, but hey, forgive us, and we lost 4 riders but did find them again later.......lol

Rich was the ride captain, with Jesus and Javier, Mark, Tom stepping up as ride leaders and and tail gunners so we could divide the group a little.

Todays ride took us North through the Malibu mountains and tho the infamous rock store.

If you have never been there before ( Me), it is absolutely beautifal........it is quiet ( or was till we arrived), There are trees everywhere, and when you get up high, all you can think as you look out into the valley is, damn God, great job.

On the way down you are going through a bunch of turns, then suddenly you see the ocean from way on high. You continue this view as you make your way down to the coast.

I am uploading the pics to photobucket now............

username - socalbtk
password - kawasaki

feel free to load up your ride pics and view the ones I have loaded, will post some in a few.

once again, thanks everyone for coming.

Alright! I'm checking in after an amazing ride. Thanks to everyone for letting me join you. And a special thanks to Mark for extending the kind invitation and for Rich for leading us. It was my first ever group ride and I must say, it was something else to be a part of such a great group of riders. The scenery was amazing and that Rock Store was pretty darn cool. I have never seen that many riders together in one place.

I took the PCH home and rode along the coast until Camp Pendleton made me jump on the super slab but as soon as I got past it, I was back next to the water. What a perfect day it turned out to be. I made a stop to watch the sun go down and then continued my trek home. All in all, a respectable 348 miles today. My wrists are pretty sore but other than that, I feel great.

I'll upload my pics to the photobucket account in just a bit. It truly was great meeting and riding with you guys. Thanks again!

It was great having you along!
Gonna' make the trek to Calico? No twisties, but it'll be a long enough ride without them, and it will be chilly... definitely a full gear ride.

sdbrit, how will you survive in MO? The scenery is gorgeous, and you can ride all winter long.

LOL. When we did Angeles Crest last weekend, we waited a bit at the gas station before hitting the mountain. The guys looked at me and asked when we were leaving, I joked that I was giving the sportbikers a head start (one group was leaving, one was still hanging out).
Snaky said "Don't matter, we'll catch up to 'em."

Wouldn't you know it... when we pulled into Newcomb's Ranch, they had just parked.
I was leading that one too, and Bella was right on my tail all the way up the mountain.

well, you were in front of me.......lol

I didnt think of giving my daughter the camera until the ride down, I should have given it to her on the way up. I tell ya, that kid, you dont even realize she is on the bike, she just kicks back and relaxes, even in tight turns
