OK, there's always one in the crowd and I'm it. I shopped and shopped on line cause I'm pretty good at it. Before I had you guys to ask I took a chance on a leather jacket. It was so good I bought two more, one for my wife and one as a gift. I can tell you that all three are really great. Very well made, YKK zippers, and perfect fit to correct size. Believe me, I was supprized because of the price. You gotta at least look.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone!!!
I kind soul over at Two Wheeled Texans forum has graciously offered to send me his Cortech jacket as he no longer uses it. The size should be close, but you never know till you try something on. If not I'll keep looking. Here's a pic: it's the one with red stripes. Tour Master Coaster Men's Cortech Leather Jackets - Motorcycle Sports Bike 2006 Apparel I agree with Rich whole heartedly on the Fox Creek model. I will start saving my pennies here and there and try to get one by next fall.

Those are some remarkably low prices! How long have you had your two jackets? Do you wear them frequently, and is the stitching holding up well? What is the country of manufacture as shown on the stiched-in label? China, Pakistan??

I have a Tour Master I wear in the summer. I wear the leather anytime it's get cool. I've had mine for a year and gotten a fairly good amout of hours in them, They are in perfect condition. I think they are Pakistan. I'll have to look when I get home latter. My opinion is that you would have to spend 3 or 400 to get better.

Thanks for the info... that is an interesting site with pretty decent looking items, especially for the price! Might have to give them a try.

The Fox Creek Jackets Rich was talking about probably have a finer fit and finish but I've found nothing wrong with these when you compare price even if you get a few seasons out of it I think it's a good deal.

YKK is a name brand of a very high quality zipper. You ever wear Levis? Look on the zipper tong of any higher quality clothing, tents, sleeping bag, furniture, etc.

Blooze: Don't know if you have a "Wilsons Leather" in your area or not but I wear one of their M/C jackets. Removable quilted liner, No armor, tab collar, and only a modest amount of zippers. I also bought one on their sale rack for for 35 bucks. $170 regular but the cinch belt was missing. Didn't noticed it was suppose to be there, and didn't want it anyway.. I also recieved a traditional "biker" jacket from Leather-Up which is where I got my chaps. I have been happy with all the items and each serves their purpose. Fox Creek often have discounts on items that are slightly bemsihed, were not picked up or are overstock. I'd rather have a blemished Fox Creek product than a new anything else. That's how good they are.

It is easily twice as thick as my imported jacket.

I don't want to sound like I'd be pushing for any cheaper jackets. Most always, I try and buy the best thing I can afford as long as it makes sense. However, I can assure anyone that the MC jacket(Pistol Pete) I bought from Jafrum for something less than $100 is pretty heavy with zipper vents and a removable Thinsulate liner. No way anyone could considder it thin or light weight. 48* on the way to work Monday and the only thing cold was my legs cause I wasen't smart enough to put on my chaps.

My wife and I love our vented bombers from Jaminleather. They're thick, and heavy, but with all the vents they are really comfortable in the high 80's and warm down to the low 20's.
They were $140, come with lifetime warranty on snaps and buttons, and for $25 you can get a 10 yr warranty on zippers and stiching. We found them when visiting Myrtle Beach, but they're also on the net: BREEZY - VENTED BOMBER-Jamin Leather |
