Did no. 74 to my old Maxum years ago, 52+56 at the same time to my Katana to total it and nearly myself, and 41 was done to my ZX6. I have also dropped the ZX6 by forgetting that the clutch interlock doesn't work. I went to start the bike standing next to it. Press starter bike, bike moves forward (it was in gear) and falls over. Oops.

Stood the bike upright from the left side while changing oil to see if any more would drain out and whoops-i-daisy down on the right with me right on top. Nice having an engine guard on.

I *almost* dumped it attempting a u-turn uphill on grass I've wondered if I was going to dump the bike sliding through sand, gravel, wet pavement, grass,.. but the oil change is the only time its gone down

Let's see...how to "cratively" drop your scoot....

Several years go....
Try to U-turn new Venture on steep hill with significant other on back - BAM
Try to U-turn Venture on dirt at Salton Sea, with significant other on back - BAM
U-Turns with significant other on board are now prohibited manuvers.

More recently, pick up "new" Nomad on a cool, drizzley day in Kentucky. Brother following in car. Turn into nice open field to wait for slow brother. Did you know that Kentucky Blue Grass is slicker than snot when wet?

Finally, after an exhillerating ride on some of the best twistie-turnies in the Texas Hill County on the Z1...forget to put feet down at stop light....BAM...

95. Kill the bike while leaned over trying to make a slow, sharp turn in a parking lot.

It wasn't a parking lot, it was a side street I was turning onto. I have no idea what I did to kill the engine. Fortunatly there wasn't traffic behind me.

I didn't drop it but came wayyyy too close. I was having a rough time that day.

How many of you are familiar with the CA DMV motorcycle riding test? I tried the test on my 97 EX500, lugged the engine during the slow, sharp 360 turn inside a painted donut portion, and dropped the bike at about 2mph in front of the DMV examiner and some people who were there for their car driving tests. Needless to say, I didn't pass the test that time.

yep, a fairly useless test IMO - rider skill is definitely needed to pass it...actually a lot of skill is needed....but it doesn't do much to test your overall riding ability on the street, at least I don't think. I opted to just do the MSF course to get the license - get some good instruction and insight, take a relatively easy set of tests at the end, license achieved! I'd suggest that path to anyone in CA.

I think giving them, away then blowing them up could bring a few laughs.

Great post Freakinout, So many memories ...

66 made me smile. My first ever ride on a bike all those years ago was on my brothers trail bike. It was his pride and joy. He asked if I wanted to take it for a spin around the back yard and never being one to miss an opportunity I said definitely. He ran me through all the important things, brakes, gear changes, throttle control so I was sweet to go.

hopped on, kick started it, clutch in, dropped it into first, gave it a fist full of fuel, popped the clutch and crashed straight through the back fence into the neighbours yard ...

First of many .... Memories

Simon

"112. On your third ride with your first ever bike. Stop at a red light. When the light turns green, you have to start uphill, and turn right at the same time. Somehow that overwhelmed me. I was probably "thinking" too much and just dropped it. Did a lot of uphill practicing after that!!"

*sigh. That one sounds strangely familiar.

I think it has something to do with these people: http://sask.sasktelwebsite.net/petfoilhat.html

This ultra modern aluminum foil hat will protect your pet from the brain scanning rays of the NSA, certain 'bay auction' websites, fbi.com, and CIA satellites that are monitoring their little subversive thoughts. You may not have considered this before, but your lead lined hat is worthless if your pet can give away your secrets to the very people most dangerous to you - your government!

The PFHT contains space age materials, and is guaranteed to work for your pet. All government I/O is cut off. It's like a firewall for your pet's brain.

"PFHT" will not disappoint anyone who doesn't want to get noticed by the ever watchful and ultra secretive FBI.com! So secret in fact, they don't even have a website.

Space Age features of this fantastic product:

* 100% effective at stopping the government from reading your pet's brain.
* Non-Carcinogenic!
* Contains acceptable molar measures of uranium, radon, and chocolate = 0.0000000000314% or less.
* Scientifically proven effective.
* Effectiveness denied by 9 out of 10 creationists who haven't examined the intelligent design of this product.
* Works as scalp sunscreen for bald pets.
* Stops Fox News transmissions from penetrating your pet's impressionable and sponge-like brain. Most other anti-propaganda devices charge extra, but this is a free feature with your purchase of the PFHT.
* Your pet won't understand what George Bush says, when they wear the PFHT.
* Blocks the CIA brain scans.
* Scrambles the NSA brain scans.
* Poaches the FBI.com brain scans.
* Bakes potatoes when placed around a potato in a hot oven.
* Your cat can't do Ctrl-Alt-Delete after you put the PFHT on them. Other pets don't know how to type, so the PFHT isn't required to stop "pet keyboarding" on those other species.
* Works as a Birthday gift for your pet!

Many happy customers

Almost dropped my bike while putting it on a stand...The panic alone messed me up for a bit.
