I haven't dropped a bike -yet. i came close my first day of the BRC when I stalled it practicing weaving through cones. I caught it before it fell, but man may leg muscles hurt later that day.
I figure if the worst that happens is I dump it over in a parking lot or a traffic light, I'll be a happy man. |

Ok I've done it back around 82 I think. A gs 250 and was parked on an incline got ready to leave, started up and just let the bike roll down the incline and cut the wheel thinking I had it in first and then realizing I didn't about the time I rolled backwards into a 4 foot deep ditch.

I have done 5, I like 30 and 35, 119 they made me laugh cuz those are yets for me...
I didn't see the drops I had... 128. washing the bike, straighten the front wheel while you are sitting on ground face to face with front wheel... it feel on me! Had to laugh. 129. Take a 19 yr old, female, (who just took the MSF course), on her new Harley for her first "ride along" stop on side of road to tell her to look out for dogs chasing you on the reservation... having her pull up next to you (instead of behind) and watching her fall over with her foot under the bike... Go to help and forget the kick stand in a panic!

I was out on my 2nd test and did something similar to #25. I was pointing uphill, fed on loads of power and popped the clutch, thinking this is how hillstarts are done. The bike landed on top of me, and all I could hear was the instructor laughing at me on the radio!
Still passed though

You feel like such a fool when you drop your bike. It's nice to know almost everyone else does it, too.
When we were riding Sunday, we stopped in Rustic, a tiny town on the Poudre River, for lunch. Just as we were pulling into the parking lot, we saw a guy on a big old Harley pull up the gas tanks and promptly fall over. The only thing is that he was close enough to the pump that he couldn't fall all the way over. His bike stopped about halfway down, leaning up against the pump, with him trapped on it. I felt so bad for him I had to look away. By the time we parked and got our gear off and walked over to the restaurant, he was gone. Poor guy.

My Latest and hopefully Last: Have wife take picture of me on shiny bike after the frenzied rebuild and accessory bolt-on marathon before last year's Red Lodge ride. Then take picture of wife on shiny bike and realize, too late, that after she straightened the bike up to level, her short little legs couldn't reach the slightly sloped ground on the right side. Tiiimmberrrrr.....
Then being very happy and thankful I got the crash bars installed the night before and the ground she was on was nice and soft and not the hard gravel driveway 5 feet away. My Worst: CB750K after 1800.3 miles with hardly any sleep driving from Houston,Texas to Mom's house in Firth,Idaho. Got VERY familiar with the brake pressure needed for any situation (or so I thought), but after braking from WHERE'S THE NEEDLE down to 25mph, after an "Almost home, it's 4AM, no cops at this hour on a Sunday morning so I'll see if I can top it out" screaming run into my hometown, my cold tired brain had forgotten that the semi-metallic brakes I had on it worked waaay better when they got hot. After that brakepad heating quick slowdown coming into town, I drove the 45 seconds through the tiny little burg and was now only a mere 1.5 miles away. I turned right to go up and over the RR tracks and up the short road to Mom's and just baaaaarely touched the front brake as I was about halfway into the turn at about 3 mph with some "non-visible at 4AM" light sandy dust on the road. LOCKUP!!!!!!! Just like the guy on the Laugh-In show on his tricycle, as the front tire slipped away, there's me, the bike, and the 3 bags of luggage strapped on the bike, slowly falling over and then laying there until I could wiggle out from under the pile. Glad there wasn't anyone on the highways at that time to see me. 1801.80 miles (according to MapQuest) and I did it with only one short night in a motel because it was raining on me. 1800 of those miles with no incidents and I fall over with 1.5 miles to go.

Or, you ride a sport bike that nearly requires a feat of yoga to ride properly.
When you take your feet from the pegs when you stop you realize that the blood has been completely cut off from your legs for the past 100km. Your legs collapse, you don't even feel them touch the ground. And you can't get up either cuz both your legs are asleep. You just know that all the cars around you are looking at you with their WTF? eyes. Happened the first time I took my bike on the road. |

Here are two I saw at a MSF course:
Suffer leg and foot cramps due to inadequate fluid intake. Jump off bike to stretch it out. No side stand deployed. Park a light weight bike with bars turned to the right in gusty wind conditions. |

61. Pushing your bike into the garage and letting it get leaned just a little away from you, pulling you on top of it to the ground.
Well, actually the front tire got caught on a lip in the concrete, and the back wheel slipped on oil as I tried to get the front wheel over the lip - fell right on top of me. One clutch lever later.... |
