I hear ya, Debi. There were six girls with variations of the name in my class when I was in elementary school.

I s'pose I should do the right thing after 4 posts and intro myself...
Name's Thom (Swedish Spelling) Carlson. I live in what used to be the boon-toolies of the Puget Sound area. I chose VulcanRev because:
1. Vulcan was the Roman god of fire and metalworking
2. Rev because I gave up my career as a heavy equipment field mechanic and machinist to go to work full time for my church.
Miss the greasy fingernails, love having lots of time to ride!
I must commend this forum and all who share their wisdom and wit, This forum was a large part of why I do not own a Boulevard or a V-star.
Thanks to all of you and I look forward to many more productive, fun and inspirational posts! T-y'all!

Just finding this thread for the first time. Might as well fess up.
Svetlana is not my real life name although at times I almost think it is Long story short, I spent the better part of seven years studying Russian studies and foreign policy and b/c my real life name has no precedent in the Russian language, my Russian speaking friends dubbed me 'Sveta'. In the decade that has past, I have used the name Svetlana on every forum and online name I have.
Oh, I suppose you need to know my real life name. Think Wild West... Clyde's partner. Not nearly so exotic as Svetlana though

Just as a suggestion..... It would be great if all posters would use their real name as well as their screen name at the bottom of each message. Works great for me.

Reminds me of when I was taking Spanish. My real name is Juliann, but there was no Spanish equivalent. My Spanish teacher called me Juana, which was a pretty bad translation.

I started using jukie or juke (my childhood nicknames) as a screen name way back in the early 90s, when I first started posting to Usenet News. My last name back then was Stutheit, so I used jukies or jukes. Then, when I married my current husband, I changed it to jukief. It's funny how you get stuck with a username for decades. I tried signing up on another forum with a different name, but it was just too complicated. LOL

Welcome everybody. I'm glad to "see" you all here. As you can see, and have expressed, this is one GREAT forum. I really love this place. I would eve go as far as to say I'm addicted. I love the people here.

I haven't gone into this yet, but I work at a power plant as a technical advisor; I work at night, so I have time at night to read. I'm a degreed electrical engineer, but I don't have a job that uses it.

I have been riding for a little over 2 years, but have logged over 14,000 miles. I consider myself a newbie in riding.

I love to bowl...I normally carry a 210 average or so, and have a couple of 300 games.

I, again, want to thank Kawi for this forum, and say to all "I love you, man!!" Let's keep up the good work here.

Hi Julie,

My name is Ken and I am on the east side of the Sierras near Lake Tahoe (Cartoon City, Nevada). Being a retired public servent allows me time to play with the bikes and enjoy life.

Happy to meet you and the many others in this forum.

Ken
