As you can see, I'm Eric. But a few other nicknames along the way are/were:
Ernie- thanks to a high school substitute who couldn't read Big E- courtesy of one o' the guys at work. Just because we call him Little P. Sleazy E- don't ask Pinky- Due to the redness of summer sun and shaven head Grace- My propensity to accident Happy- One bad day on the golf course and you're labeled for life. I only broke one club. Like noone else has ever done that. Bubby- This one's a little hard to explain. My little brother called me that when we were children. Sadly, he's gone now. What I wouldn't give to hear that again. Ok, enough of that. Thanks for the vent. Thanks for the post. And I vote for the real names. It seems to make everything a little more personal. Keep em rubber side down.

Dave C, here Julie. I see your first post was a little over two years ago. Of course I didn't go through all the posts or I'd be here for about three days.
I have had many names over the years. When I was younger, my friends used to call me Bear because I was taller than they were and I had a booming voice. That one was my favorite of all, though. I've been called Super Dave, Jay Bird, by my Dad, Luv Bug by my Gramma, A**hole by my wife, and the last one was given to me by my neice. That one was Big Dave. I used that one for a few years and now I just go by my first name and last initial, Dave C. |

Howdy Julie, and everyone else.
Nickname has been Bear as long as I can remember, so feel free.

Hi Julie,
My "real" name is Bob, but I answer to B-Bob as well. B-Bob is the nickname given to me by my friend Scotty. Scotty rode a Suzuki street bike, and was instrumental in getting me to take the MSF class and start riding. I never got to ride with Scotty; he died of ALS in May of 2005. I hadn't met most of his family prior to his death, but they all knew me as B-Bob. To this day, if I call one of his family up and say, "Hi, it's Bob S-------," they have to think for a second; it's easier if I just say, "Hi, it's B-Bob." I sign all of my posts with my real name, along with my hometown and bike. The initials "S.T.K." are in Scotty's honor. Some day I may tell the whole story.

Hi Julie, I'm John and only found the forum a couple days ago. Interesting that about 99% of the replies on this thread are from men. Do the women here only make up 1% of the registered users? Call me curious... |

Hi Julie. I've always liked that name. My name is Vincent same as the beast in beauty and the beast. I chose antiq because I'm over fifty and most of what I own could be considered antique. Happily married now for ten years. Unhappily married thrice before.

<====<< That's me!
Seems like this thread has also turned into a intro one... I'm Bruce, my wife Julie and I own an '04 1500 Nomad that we ride as much as possible around NC/SC/VA/WV. We love to tour the mountains and surrounding areas as often as possible. This seems like a great sight, hope to become a regular. Bruce |
