Default Names

I've noticed that some of the posters here sometimes use their real names. And I've also noticed that some of us call each other by our real names instead of our usernames. I like to use people's real names (as long as they don't mind); I find that real names are easier to remember than usernames. But I'm menopausal, and I can barely remember my own name half the time. So while I might remember a poster's real name day, the next day I've forgotten it. And I really would like to reply to people in a more personal way, especially when they call me Julie instead of jukief.

I'd like to make a list for my personal use to help me remember people's real names (until such a time--if it ever happens--when I can remember without it). I was wondering if those of you who don't mind sharing your real names would reply here with them. I find it hard to keep people straight until I've met them in person, but I really like the more personal touch of using first names. I'm on several other forums, too, which just compounds the problem. So many people to remember! But once I get used to using people's names, I usually remember them. Usually.

Ah, those lovely days when I had more than a couple of brain cells...

Thanks everyone,
Julie

Hello Julie,
I can agree with that.
My name is Carlo.
Not to be confused with Carlos, or Arlo, or Marco. Which I will also answer too. All names being used by my primarily senior citizen client base. lol
Look forward to conversating with you in the future.

Carlo--that sounds very Italian! Very nice name.

Not sure if I qualify as a senior citizen yet (just turned 50), but I'll try to keep it straight. LOL

I have a horrendous last name (or, rather, my husband does; I just inherited it). It's Feuerbacher. And you wouldn't believe what people do to it. Just yesterday I got a piece of mail addressed to Julie Feverhacker. So I can sympathize with the Carlos, Arlo, and Marco.

Where's Penticton? I love BC; I've wanted to move to Vancouver Island for the past 20 years. Don't know whether I'll ever get to...

Try having Ferrari as your last name. I have heard it all. Not that I complain, it did get me into the Ferrari factory for a "tour" a few years ago.

Penticton is in the Sunny Okanagan Valley. In south central BC, right close to the US border. If you locate HWY 97 on a Washington State map and follow it into BC you will find us. People laugh when I tell them but we live in the hottest part of Canada, the only desert environment in the whole country, and home to a lot of great wine.

Carlo Ferrari. Now that's an extremely cool name!

I've never been to that part of BC, just to the west coast. Sounds very nice, especially the part about the wine! We'll have to ride up there sometime and check it out.

Hey everyone, as you can tell I'm just a newbie but am really enjoying the discussions. I'll be signing my real name from now on. My username wasn't cool enough anyway!

Later,

flynsouth came from running south to the warmer southern weather 15 years ago like all the halfway intelligent birds in Canada, only we decided it was a one way trip. Ma and Pa called me Mark when the minister was trying to drown me in front of the church a number of decades ago.

I hear you on last names only I seem to have the other problem, my last name is only 3 letters but is mispelled 95% of the time.

Hiya Mark. Three letters, eh? Hmmmm... That's a tough one.

Kenny, you're the smart one! No forgetting your name!
