Calling all NorCal riders...anyone up for a ride in the next 2 weeks? Alex, Charles, Liz, Brian, Stefan, let's do a meetup over by Liz's area. I also have a friend up in the Sacto area who may join us...

Sorry I missed this thread, Robert. Really just getting to my feet now. My second phase of my procedure is on the 24th, so I'm thinking I'm going to be out like a light again.

I'll start looking at the routings to Ft Bragg, but what say ye to April?

Alex, what's up? I hadn't heard about you going under the knife. Heal quickly!

Hey Liz. Degen bone issue for my upper and lower jaw. They have to go stick a nice metallic probe in between every tooth all the way down to bone and use ultrasonic waves to break up / remove the bacteria that's embedded there (yes - IT HURTS!!!). Thank the heavens for laughing gas!!!

Hasn't happened yet. Still in planning. We're looking at a coastal jaunt, likely northbound towards Ft Bragg or Bodega Bay. Details will be posted as they become available.

You mentioned Fort Bragg and April earlier, but I just caught that. I worked late last night and just woke up, so I'm not functioning at 100% right now. Cool stuff. I'll continue to keep on eye on this and I might join you. Maybe meet up with that person from Sacramento on their way down. I just rode with a few guys to Santa Cruz over the weekend. Just a quick turn and burn after eating lunch near the beach. The weather was perfect this past weekend !!!

OUCH! I am so sorry to hear this! (I hate dental work…) But I assume the up side is that your mouth will be healthier afterwards. Can we tell you funny jokes or would it hurt to laugh…?

Hang in there, Alex.

messer00— Of course, you are welcome to join us! The more the merrier. We're going to have a planning meeting (I think) at the end of April in SF if you're interested in joining in on that. Let me know and I can keep you posted on the details via PM.

Please, keep me in the loop. I live in Newman, which is near Modesto. a small town of 10k people in the Central Valley just off Hwy 5. If anybody else is coming from this side of the Altamont Pass or near the Livermore/Dublin area, I could meet up with them. Let me know when that planning meeting is and I'll see if I can get the time off work to take BART into the city to attend. If I can't make the meeting (because I'm working like crazy right now), I still want to go. I took my honeymoon in Mendocino so I know the ride to your part of the coast is absolutely amazing !!! What's everybody talking about doing at this point? SF to Fort Bragg ??? Continue up the coast to OR/WA ??? Stay the night there in Fort Bragg ???

Where did you get that full fairing on your 500 ??? I have a mid-fairing from Pyramid in the shop getting painted right now (for my 2007 500R I just bought). I love the bike, but hated the fact it didn't have the full fairing, so this will correct that.

The fairing came with the bike. It is a Targa brand fairing and the paint is custom, but I don't remember the color name.

What color are you having the bike painted? Are you willing to disclose cost (just because I'm curious and have no idea what a bike paint job costs)?

I'm not having the entire bike painted, just the mid-fairings I just bought. I wish the bike was black or red (my two favorite colors). It's metalic titanium, Kawasaki's fancy name for silver. I called 3 different local paint guys and they all quoted me about $100 bucks to paint the two parts, which included the paint. I went with the guy I guy I got the best vibe from. I hope to get them back and on Saturday. I've got a dark windscreen on order and once I get everything on, I'll add a picture to my profile. --- By the way, I saw your myspace and the video. Way cool !!!

Hey Messer00. We haven't quite pinned how far up the coast we'll be going. SF to Bodega is a reserved day trip distance of about 70 mi, while Bragg is getting into some serious miles - about 180 or so. As far as I know, Liz, Rob, and I are absolute definites for this. Including you, we have a potential group of five.

No need to worry about physical meetings as we just more or less brainstorm via forum and PM. Glad to hear you're interested. And for future reference, me and another friend are planning a Yosemite ride in the summer. Right in your neighborhood, eh?

I'm so there. Count me in for both rides! - I did a quick turn and burn to Santa Cruz last weekend. It was great. I went to Gilroy, up through the hills, over to Hwy 1. Ate lunch on the beach, watched some volleyball. Cruised back down through Hollister, to home. I love CAL-A-FORN-I-A (as Arnold says).

Hey Alex, regarding getting together beforehand, I thought it would be fun to get together and meet each other. I will be in SF at the end of April for three days and was hoping to pull a dinner gathering together. hiddendragon and squizzle are up for this.

messer—I tried to pm you about the dates, but couldn't because of your privacy settings here.

That seems like a decent price; I would have expected more, knowing how much the body shop industry charges! Can't wait to see pictures…

I'll change my settings in a few minutes. I'm still trying to figure out how to use this bleeping forum. I posted one new topic awhile ago and can't figure out how to do it again. All I can do is reply (lol). I think it would be nice to get together next month. I'll do my best to get there.

No, there hasn't been a ride yet. Just wishful thinking. I'm guessing there are other forum members in the Bay Area that would like to be in on this, I just don't know who they are.

I think we're looking at a May or June trip. Am I right, everyone? Although of course you who live closer may well get together before that.
